There’s a ‘paste from Word’ in the visual editor of 2.7+!

Really? I’d never even noticed that to tell them! funny enough I was doing a site in Drupal last night and the FCKeditor had it so I was wondering if it were possible to get it in WordPress. That’ll teach me to look !

Also I notice a lot of the errors are caused by things like teh archives using <link> in teh middle of a document and a lot of code erros for widgets taht have been copied from teh net, not sure how I’d cure those. I’ve got it down from 200+ errors to 66 and starting to struggle getting rid of teh others now. Even if I got it to 0 I’m still fairly sure it would still be messed up in IE6. I think it’s just something IE doesn’t like. It’s fine in 7 and on Firefox. Just IE6 being a pain as always!

p’s and spans gallore! ALthough if I click on a post taht I know used to work so taht is teh only one on the screen, it still freaks out in IE6. I’ve asked that they don’t post direct from word etc but thats where a lot of their content is so they just do it anyway. I’ve quietly worked through all teh validation errors, it’s taking a while but if it makes everything work properly in IE6 I’ll be happy. I don’t actually know of any one using IE6 but it’s still nice to know it woudl work if they did ??

It never had vvalidated since teh day I installed it so I just assumed there was something about the wordpress code that didn’t validate and left it. It’s weir dthough, the blog used to work fine on all browsers, coudl it be something that the user has posted as a thread?

And now I’ve realised teh more button is there too!

Thanks for teh help, I worked it out, I didn’t realise there was a box under teh actual posts editor taht showed what you wanted as a excerpt. So I just copied teh whole post in there and now it shows all of that, apparently fi you don’t put anything in that box it shows teh first 55 words stripped of pictures and formatting….

Aha!!! got it.

Downside is I didn’t realise it would strip the pictures out fo eth pinned post. Is it possible to make it show all of the pinned post then summarise the rest?

I don’t know if I’m just being a bit dumb here, but I’ve set the blog up for somebody to use who has no web ability at all. So what I wanted was to chance the index so that it shows just a summary of each post instead of teh whole thing. I read somewhere that you coudl change content for exert or something but I don’t know where and I can’t find it in teh template. Once you click on eth post and it goes to single page I want it to show teh whole thing as usual.

Am I making sense?

I too have been on the look out for one of these, I even contacted a company that said they could make plugins and offered to pay but they didn’t even reply!

So if you find one I’d be very intersted.

Certainly does start to help yes, The sidebars are mostly plugin driven. If I go and edit the sidebar.php will it mess anything up becaus ethey were entered via plugin?

Also to have rounded boxes, where do I tell it to to use images with rounded corners for the top and bottom line?

shame. I think it woudl be a great plugin, very useful too. Shame nobody has made it, It’s cound to be possible.

I’ve started to edit the faults but I can’t find most of them because I don’t even know where they originate. Most of it was just draggin pluggins into teh sidebar so not even code I had done myself. I have a feeling this is gonna be a failed template taht I’ve spent so long messing about with to work it all out.

The bad news is it still doesn’t work 100% when I tell it to insert a picture it just sits there and does nothing. Woudl it be possible to make fckeditor part of the editing screen? Would make it the best product of it’s kind if you ask me (although looking at teh others it already was) Would definately give it the edge against many other plugins. Could be used for many additional thinsgthen too. WordPress deserately needs something liek a fckedit taht can just be entered into a side bar as an easy editor.
