I have found the culprit. The Events Calendar plugin latest update appears to have caused this issue. Disabling this plugin solved the problem

Works from the message therefore must be something in my set up that is preventing this from functionong correctly

This should open the link in another tab. Itdoes not. Is there something I am missing. are there any WP setting plugins that could prevent this.

Correct not all the links but just the ones that link to external sites / documents.
In the WP editor there is an option to create a link that opens in a new tab. This used to work and now does not. Even editing the html code and putting target_blank has no effect. I know this is not XHTML compliant but thought I would try.
They used to word I had not changed anything on the main page but now they no longer work as expected.

The problem still exists, will this be corrected any time soon

I have renamed the plugins/the event calendar folder and reinstalled. Seems to have worked OK and restored events.

Yes since the latest update the list is not being purged. Even uninstalling the plugin does not clear the data. when reinstalled the ever growing list is still there.
I used to inactivate and reactivate the plugin to clear the list this no longer works.
Any ideas

Hi apologies I have found a work around, I have installed another plugin.(Inactive Logout) and now you plugin works as expected as users are actually logged out.

I am using the latest version of the plugin. The list of users “”logged in does not remove them when they Logout. If I force a logout from within WordPress (logout everywhere) the list updates. Any ideas

Apologies I am very new to wordpress and I am using easel.
I have made a few modifications and I am happy with the results so far.
I would just like to know where you would make the above edits.
