I’m having the same trouble and I want to scream, but I may have found out why. If you’re using cPanel for your site admin and back-end, try using Postgre SQL and PHP rather than MySQL. For some reason, My SQL is only running PHP version 2.something. Could be a possible fix, but unfortunately the Postgre servers are down at the moment so I have no way of confirming whether or not this will resolve the issue!
