Oops… I’ll close the topic. There are no items afterall in the “hidden” categories.
They were all 2015 items Iwas looking at. New ones have not been made yet… so those categories remain empty (and thus “hidden”.)

Found the answer. I based all my existing roles on a base role witout the proper rights, so naturally it wouldn’t show up.
Changed that and now it is working.

Ehm… after some teste=ing of different settings I come to the conclusion, that having featured images is actually not so bad… but what the post slider is missing, is what happens if a tagged post displayed in the post slider has no featured image. Then the default haeder image should be displayed.

How do I do that?

I was under the impression, that once I tell the index.css to load everything from the parent theme, it just would… apparantly not?

I already have some contributors working on the content… so it can’t stay this way. That’s why I put back the original theme and I made a screenshot of the site with the child theme and added some remarks. This way you can compare.
