I still can’t figure this out: I see things like 1.(a,b,c,d) What does that mean? each letter is a different font??? Can you help me. thanks.

Well, here is the thing. On Lynda.com the tutorial explained wrap-arounds. You go to the icon outside and above the box for the page of text you are editing and there is a simple protocol for wrapping, no code needed. Does no one know about this? My site looks 100% better because I learned how to do this and I didn’t need to deal with the dreaded code.

Can I change the font? I’d like it to be san serif, like the font used here and on all wp features. Thanks.

“Allow people to post on new articles” was checked yesterday. Is it checked right now.

On the loop-page.php? I do this:
I delete the line beginning: <?php comments_template( ", true ); ?>
and insert:
<?php// comments_template( '', true ); ?>
Does this bit of code activate comments globally? On the loop-page.php?

I fear messing with code as I know the disasters that can happen.

I have 3 posts. It is that ugly red book cover with all the white space to the right that annoys me.

Also, the background color is so glaring, not subtle choices from that dial a color thing I used.

I wonder how the site looks to other people. Sent it to a few people. One said all the images were teeny tiny, the thumbnails, I think she meant.
I have a giant iMac screen so everything is really big for me.
I notice the options at the top of this comments box put in code, they dont make the changes, like the visual editor does.

After several hours, I’m so sorry but I can’t find a string of code like this:

Go to Appearance -> Editor. Then on the right, click on “Page Template”. You should see <?php comments_template( “, true ); ?> somewhere near the bottom. Change it to <?php// comments_template( “, true ); ?>, <!–<?php comments_template( “, true ); ?>–>, or delete it entirely. Then click on update file and turn your comments back on (I notice you have them turned off site-wide at the moment).

From the kitchensink, I chose appearance-Editor-then, Page template from the right sidebar. But there is nothing there that begins
<?php comments_template(… and ends ; ?>–>

What am I doing wrong? I like the little gray text at the bottom with the word Comment. I’m happy to have that on every post and every page, I guess, because it is subtle. Isn’t there a global comments-on option? A widget that doesn’t require writing code?

I finally got a background color, but the choices are so garrish that I can’t stand them. All too bright.

I see nobody responded to your request. I just placed one myself. Even the code experts need help with this and I only use the visual editor myself.

I can’t even add color to the background, much less wrap around text and image.

Call me crazy. I went all the way to the bottom and there was the word comments in little gray text.Way at the bottom. Since I only have 3 subscribers I don’t think there will be tons of traffic. So am I the only person who sees that little gray text at the bottom of the pages? I actually like that the big ugly comments box doesn’t appear on the page, yet someone could still contact me.

Say what?? Do have to go into HTML to do this and find <?php comments_template( “, true ); ?> Would it be at the bottom on the HTML code page? Am I doing this globally or a page at a time?

WHat does “comment it out” mean? If I want comments on for everything what should I do?

Hello, how do I activate a link to an outside web site from a post? I’m very new and can’t learn to do code. I pasted the link into the little post but it is not active. I pasted the same link into a page and it is active. Any ideas.

Also, where is the unsubscribe button to leave a “topic” as I asked this question in another place and was asked to unsubscribe.

Activating links on pages and posts, rather than on the blogroll sidebar.
Just wrote my second post, actually just a link, but when I view the page it is not active, not clickable. Where have I gone wrong? It is on the home page. Maybe that is the wrong place for posts.

I use the visual editor,don’t think I’m capable of mastering code. Can someone help, please?
