Yes, I’m hiding these translations for many years, but Woocommerce manages to find them and to mess things up after every update:) So the last thing I want to see is Woocommerce’s update poping out:) Thanks for your suggestion regarding translation (it works), but IMHO filters is not the best way to translate content.

Thanks, I know it works, just don’t like the idea of using filters for translations.

Fixed – if using Loco Translate plugin, ensure that Woocommerce’s .pot and .po files are synced, then just translate strings “Shipping [shipping package]” and “optional”.

Well, the string “Shipping [shipping package]” must be translated, that fixed the issue.

It’s 3.4.4 now, but I’m facing the same issues with “Shipping” and “optional”.

Where do you get that many language files?

“Shipping” is not translated anyway.

Redirecting your URL’s is not a reliable solution. This must be done within wordpress system (database). There are costly plugins, which work perfectly, but there are other drawbacks – like loading speed, configuration, possible conflicts. I’ll move back to Joomla with next project, where similar problems just dont exist. But, unfortunately, Woocoomerce doesnt exist there either.

No more suggestions until now? Woocommerce perfect SEO also does the job (I had a opportunity to test it), but cannot justify it’s price. If you are not using regular pages (of which I doubt), only products, you can solve it easily:

Product category base: .
Custom permalinks: /%product_cat%

But in such arrangement you get 404 error when trying to open ordinary WordPress page.

Also you may easily google way to remove slugs from custom post types, which is “product” in Woocommerce – again that does half of a job, because category slug also must be dealt with.

Its only a matter of time then solution approaches. Until then it doesnt seem like living in 2017 for WordPress..

It’s not theme specific and as my research shows it’s only between WordPress and Woocommerce:)

Situation:

Permalink structure: https://www.site.com/%postname%
Woocommerce category base: .
Woocommerce custom base: /%product_cat%/

(Perhaps not the ideal solution, but at least it works)

With these settings on site, opening regular page (e.g. “About”) would result 404 error.

All these 11 hours I’ve been struggling to find a solution and have come to the same result as your plugin does – it’s easy to clear URL for Woocommerce products, but it does not allow to change product category slug:

Products slug: https://www.site.com/%product_cat%/%postname% – works fine.

Since it is not possible to set product category slug in you plugin’s options, I change slug (permalink) in Woocommerce categories – and its not working (not even saving result I input).

Any ideas?
