In reply to: [Posterous Importer] Hangs on "Please wait…" with spinnerteetmulja – yes I found that too. THe .zip has a size (mine was 66MB) but using WIndows Explorer it appeared to be empty. I used the demo version of WinZip and there were all my files…
I made a video of how to use dllh’s importer with step-by-step instructions to get your posterous blog in to a hosted WordPress site. If you are on a non-hosted site, maybe you could just dispense with the bit about creating a hosted site and do all the other steps. The details are in this thread.

In reply to: [Posterous Importer] Please Wait…I found dllh’s plug in perfect for migrating text, pics and Youtube video references. I did it on a hosted WordPress site. I created a video with step-by-step instructions. If you are running on a non-hosted platform, you could just dispense with the hosting part of the video. The details are here.

In reply to: [Posterous Importer] Posterous Shutting DownI used dllh’s importer on a hosted WordPress site and it worked perfectly. The WordPress Import option and WordPress’s own importer were not so successful. I created a step-by-step video. If you are using a hosted WOrdpress site – follow along. If not then dispense with the bits that talk about creating a hosted WordPress site.
The thread with the detail is here.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Import Posterous wordpress.com vs www.remarpro.comWell – could you import to your hosted blog, then do an “Export” (which should create a proper “WordPress” export archive) which will give you a bunch of files, including the WordPress_export_1.xml.
Then use that as the input to an “Import” operation on you WordPress.com site.
I have some click-by-click instructions in a video I created. Have a look at this thread.

In reply to: Import from PosterousHi mymoltenshield,
There is definitely some kind of problem with the output file generated by posterous (the .zip with the .xml inside it). You aren’t entirely alone.
I’d use dllh’s importer. I did that on a hosted WOrdpress blog and imported everything from posterous just fine – both the default WOrdpress Importer and WordPress’s own Posterous Importer failed.
I created a video of how to do it. If you are not using a hosted site – you could just skip the bit about creating a hosted website. See this thread. Good luck.

In reply to: Self-hosted blog doesn't have "posterous" as an import optionHi justdep,
If you want to move to a hosted version of a WordPress blog – I have created some step-by-step instructions in a video (see this thread). I used dllh’s posterous importer. For hosted WordPress sites it works a lot better than the default WordPress Importer.

In reply to: Posterous importer (with XML) like WordPress.comHi wonderm00n,
I used dllh’s importer plug-in and it moved everything from posterous to a hosted wordpress blog fine. I made a video with click-by-click instructions. You could just follow it and dispense with the hosting part of it.
It’s discussed in this thread.

In reply to: If you have a posterousblog: moving it to WordPressOK. I can see there is a paragraph deleted now but I can’t exactly remember what I wrote. I know I didn’t copy/paste anything so I suspect I’ve obviously included something from the OP (being careful not to duplicate here), maybe it was the date or the name of the other organisation.
My apologies. I’ll be sure to tread incredibly carefully from now on. No more repeats.

In reply to: If you have a posterousblog: moving it to WordPressThanks.
I have to admit I didn’t read those articles before I posted. I saw the number of forums and posted in to the relevant ones.
