In reply to: [Perfect Images] Retina Featured Images do not appear in Facebook PostsGot it. I’ll take your advice and stay away from trying to send my retina images to OG.
Thanks for your help!

In reply to: [Perfect Images] Retina Featured Images do not appear in Facebook PostsI tried out the Facebook Object debugger and it threw me this error on one of my key posts:
“og:image could not be downloaded or is too small”
“og:image was not defined, could not be downloaded or was not big enough. Please define a chosen image using the og:image metatag, and use an image that’s at least 200x200px and is accessible from Facebook.”
As I’ve done a bit more reading about Open Graph images, it seems there is a 5MB maximum to images that may be “scraped” and shared in Facebook. And indeed, open graph is attempting to download the original 10+ megabyte rather than the resized versions that WordPress and WP Retina 2X create.
While I can start to upload original images that are less than 5MB, I wonder if there is a way to specify to OpenGraph that it should pull from the retina image version instead?
For now, my solution in the meantime is to upload final images that are smaller than 5 MB.
Thanks Jordy!

In reply to: [Hew] How can I display retina ready images? Thanks for responding. As it turns out , I’ve now gotten the WP Retina 2x plugin to work thanks to some help from the developer.
It turns out that the Yoast SEO plugin “force automatic rewrite” setting was checked, and preventing the plugin from working.
Have a great day!

In reply to: [Perfect Images] Retina Versions of Images Generated, Not DisplayedThanks Jordy!
It appears that the Yoast SEO plugin setting was indeed the issue. That was pretty nice to find the resolution with your first suggestion.
And I only started to use Lightroom CC about a month ago, so most of the photos on the blog haven’t been edited with Lightroom. I used Photoshop instead.
Thanks for your help, and your great work. Have a great day!
