    Hi @rubirosa,

    Thanks for your message.

The current implementation of the plugin is designed to synchronize user meta fields, which are specific to user profiles in WordPress. However, WordPress also supports custom fields (post meta data) associated with posts, pages, and custom post types. The reason the plugin doesn’t support post meta data out of the box is simply due to the initial scope of the project. I’m considering expanding the plugin to support synchronizing custom fields (post meta data) , but it’s quite an undertaking and I don’t have much time. Trying to squeeze it in.

Thanks for clarifying where you’d like to sync to.
As I don’t have the plugin and since it’s commercial, could you also clarify about the originating fields. Please see question above for context.

    Thanks.
I’ll check why they don’t show up. Is it possible to share more information on the fields here? Not the content of course or anything else privacy related, just the field names, types, and anything else you could share.

This allows me to check why it doesn’t show up. For example it could be they are using custom post types and custom fields. And if so, I can see how to best include them if I know what type of fields you are interested in syncing, and to what other fields they would ideally sync.

    Thanks!

    Hi @alortiz3,
Thanks for your interest in SyncFields!
I don’t know Ultimate membership fields plugin, so I’m not aware how it works. If it has usermeta fields, they should show up to be ready for sync though.
If you happen to have the Ultimate membership fields plugin I’d be interested to know. If it doesn’t work I could potentially check if I can extend the SyncFields plugin.

    Hi Steve @sterndata,
Apologies, I though there (used to?) be a DM facility, my bad.

Is there an accepted way to send people beta versions?

    Hi @pradhansb
Sent, thanks in advance for your comments!

Sure. I don’t see a way to dm to you though. I am at [redacted]@gmail.com
I have a staging site where I could readily play!
    Thanks for the opportunity.

    Hi @cauzeneffeckt,
If you’d like to try the beta version let me know how I can reach you.

And at others that may want to test; please feel free to let me know in a reply.

    Hi @pradhansb,
    Thanks for your below suggestion.

The challenge with what you suggest is that a table can exist of any type of data, and without following the logic of WordPress hierarchy of data (Custom Post type, Custom Field, etc) we would have no knowledge what data constitutes a field with values and what other ‘field’ to sync it to.
So that setup is too broad for this plugin I’m affraid.

Having said that, as long as the data is of these types it should work in the new version:
Post meta, term meta, user meta, comment meta or users.

Want to try the beta? If so send me a Direct message.

    Here is a biggy pjfc:
Open table in db, any table.
    Open second table.
Map selected fields of Table 1 into Table 2.

An example. I am using Bookly which is an appointment plugin. It keeps its own table of bookly customers. On the backend, you can opt to create a wp account when entering the data.
But, you can also register a user independent of Bookly but it does NOT create a bookly customer.
I would love it to. This way I could use an independent registration plugin up front.
    Thanks for your consideration.

Happy to say the work is underway.
If there are any last minute feature wishes, do let me know.

Hey there! I just ran into your plugin and this feature would 100% solve all my issues! Was curious if you think you will go through with this potential feature

    Hi @cauzeneffeckt ,
    Thanks, good to hear!
As for the future: I’m busy selecting a developer to help, (too busy to do the work myself, sorry).
I’ll let everyone know in the support section once the work is underway!

Quick update: Checking the amount of work and to see if I can find a developer to assist(I’m overloaded at the moment).

Understood! Let me think about this.

And thanks for your suggestions, much appreciated.

    Haha, that’s an interesting thought.
So your wish is I’d add the option to add other database tables, (including those containing custom fields), and sync fields from those tables.

Any other thoughts that might behind your ‘etc’?
Now that I’m thinking through possible (!) additional plugin functionality, feel free to chip in with other functionality or lay-out wishes you may have for the plugin ??

    Hi @integritivity
I’m trying to recreate the error but in my tests sites this doesn’t happen.

I’m almost sure it isn’t the SyncFields plugin that causes this; the plugin doesn’t influence the saving of the user meta field, it uses the trigger from WordPress which fires AFTER the update, so it is (almost) impossible. I’m breaking my head what could cause it in your site, can’t think of something yet. Could I ask you to list the other plugins you have installed and activated? That may help me get some ideas.
