In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Getting PHP version warning on PHP 7@amboutwe. My issue is solved. It looks as if cpanel reports the maximum version of PHP that the server has, and I was actually at version 5.3 in WordPress, and it is up to the user to manually update PHP within WordPress. So I installed the PHP compatibility plugin and there was only a couple of errors and warnings with PHP 5.6 that had minimum impact on my sites, so I upgraded to 5.6, and now I can get security updates going forward. The warning message from Yoast is now gone, so that verifies all of this. PHP 7.0 had some errors with the compatibility check that would have likely been fatal, so I am skipping it until the plugin developers can catch up.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Getting PHP version warning on PHP 7Same problem. I am running PHP 5.6.30, but that brutal obnoxious non-removable warning message is splattered across all my wordpress sites. Regardless of my website severs being above 5.4 anyway, these kinds of non-removable messages should never ever appear on a Dashboard. What were you thinking?

Still not fixed I see. I disabled it 5 months ago for this and other reasons that I stated previously.
Just to help you troubleshoot, I also just updated ithemes security and updated to WordPress 4.7 on my two websites and I do not have an error accessing the Appearance > Themes page, or the ithemes view details, or anywhere else on my site. I did immediately purge all my W3 Total Cache caches after the installs if that makes a difference.
Totally agree.
1) I stopped reading these because scrolling down every day to get to the reason the email was sent (lockout, file change) was just getting ridiculous. If it is all about advertising, which is understandable, at least find a better way to do it.
2) I have also always been getting two emails every day on both my websites with the exact same information and exact same date and time stamp. So add the size of these messages and it really adds up fast. Is there a way to fix this?
Same here. Two emails every time, exact same time stamp. I clean my emails once in a while so I don’t know how long this has been going on, but the last time this was happening was at least 08-02-2016. I am running the current version of Ithemes security (5.7.1) and it is still happening. On another note, these huge graphical security digest emails are so ridiculous that I stopped reading them because I am tired of scrolling down every time to read the reason for the report; you have every right to advertise, but this has made the emails unusable.

@dnutbourne. Thanks. As long as it doesn’t affect the backups I am good with it.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Error log full of updraft errorshttps://www.<MY WEBSITE NAME FILLED IN HERE>.example.com/error_log gives me:
That page can’t be found.
This is a hosted environment. I do have SSH jailed root access however, so maybe I can find those error logs somewhere. I will take a look when i get a chance.
Wow, glad I noticed the automatic update today. I completely agree with the OP. Before I do any updates, I write the version of everything I update to in a readme file (Both the Before and After version). That way I can easily track down a plugin that is causing issues. Otherwise it would be a nightmare to track it down, especially if a plugin interacts with multiple plugins badly. I check my plugins on a regular basis, so keeping them up to date manually is not an issue.
For the Love of God I hope this does not become a trend, hoping I recognize that this is being done to one of my plugins, and/or lucky enough to see the opt-out button. This is perhaps the stupidest idea I have seen in my 3 years of using WordPress. It is bad enough with the occasional WordPress core automatic security related updates, but I can live with one thing that does this. Besides, as I recall, they are at least smart enough to send me a notification when that occurrs.
