Disregard. It would appear that the plugin W3 Total Cache was preventing the shortcode from registering post type. Wish I would have discovered that before spending hours editing code trying to solve this.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I had actually seen that page before but didn’t spend much time with it. But it seems the gist of it is that it $domain should match the plugin name or theme directory name and isn’t necessary except for handling localization in particular ways.
