2 remarks, if I may…
If you go to
Sample PageYou will notice that the Line spacing between The A group and the following B header is not the same as with the other groups.
Also, the J group, which appears on top of the second column, has no J header.
Seems to work just fine, even without
locale=”fr_FR.UTF8″
and
keep_together=1You’re the best, Chris.
Thanks a lot.By the way, the same applies to all Roman languages, like Spanish, Italian, Portuguese… which all have accented vowels.
Thank you.

The above order is right (ABCDEF…)
BUT accented letters should not be sorted after non-accented letters.
For sorting purposes, accented letters have to be treated as if they had no accent.
For example, a normal sort would go something like that:
Absolu
?ge
?me
Amitié
B group
C group
D group
écrit
Entre
Estime
être
étuve
Exil
F group
etc.
In other words, ?ge, ?me, écrit, être and étuve have to be sorted just as if they had no accent.
The accents are only there for pronunciation purposes. They are not separate letters.
This applies to all accented vowels: à ? é ê è ? ? ù ?The best I can get is with
locale=”fr_FR.UTF8″
or
locale=”fr_FR.UTF-8″
the result being as follows:
A group
? group
B group
C group
D group
E group
é group
ê group
F group
etc. With or Without remove_filters=0 changes nothing
Hi Chris,
I just installed the new update, and the sorting is now done as follows :
All words starting with A
All words starting with é
All words starting with ?
All words starting with ê
All words starting with B
etc.
Sorting by Name or by Term Order gives the same result.Do I have to change something somewhere?
No, but since AJAX file format offers me a viable workaround, I would prefer to stop further tests on my side until you find out more about the issue.
Yes, CSS and JS file minification is enabled.
After DEactivating Site Kit, Loco Translate returns Error: /* <![CDATA[ */ if I try to Add or Modify a translation.
I noticed there is an option in Loco Translate to Upload files using AJAX. So I tried it, and it works with Site Kit REactivated.
Why would that be so? I never had to use AJAX before.
Thanks again for your support.
I’ve looked at many alternatives to tag clouding and indexing, and your take on it is definitely the best as far as I’m concerned.
Thanks for your reply, Chris.
When do you expect to update the plugin to correct the locale problem?
Also, may I suggest that you include an option allowing for target info display in a new browser tab when clicking on any of the entries in Alphabetical Tab Index?
I’m not sure what you mean.
At the bottom of the page, in the screen capture titled “Ordre des étiquettes” from Custom Taxonomy Order, you can see:
Absolu
Action
Action désintéressée
?ge de Kali
Allah
?me
?me réalisée
?me Suprême
Amitiéwhereas on top of the page, Tag Groups listing goes:
Absolu
Action
Action désintéressée
Allah
Amitiéwith
?ge de Kali
?me
?me réalisée
?me Suprême
presented separately after the Y entries.Sorry, but I’m not sure what you mean by “you will need to manually insert the product snippets via another method”.
Can I (or not) temporarily deactivate Site Kit (with Anlytics and Search Console) and then simply reactivate it, or will it be more complicated than that?
In the meantime, I’ve already filled the form you asked for.
