A windows enviroment isn’t ideal for WordPress as, WordPress with written in PHP. A Linux OS would be much better for this.
However WordPress will still run, but some features may not. For example CURL.

You will need to copy the entire WordPress folder, not just the wp-content folder. Withing your my-domain.com/copy you should have all your WordPress installation files and folders.
You will also need to update your database to your new installation location.

Do you know approximately how many visitors your receiving a month?
What kind of hosting are you on?
