Would this new site be completely separate from your existing WordPress installation?

Depending on what control panel you have with your hosting package you should be able to add your new domain name then upload a new instance of WordPress.

You would then access this site from its own URL.

You shouldn’t really CHMOD directories to 777 if it can be helped this can cause a security risk.

Best think to do is to ask your hosting provider what setting they recommend.

You are probably referencing your local ip address within the installation.

How are you viewing the site externally? Have you added an A Name record to your domain to point to your local IP?

Hi Apathetic012,

This isn’t the correct way to install WordPress.

You will need to leave the wp-config-sample.php in tact. Upload all the files to your server, then visit the URL to begin the installation process. You will then be asked to fill out the database information.
