In reply to: Servers woking, wp database recognized, but I can't get to wpHave you changed anything since you last saw it working?
You might be better off doing a dump of your mysql database manually by command line to make sure it copies over properly.
If you are not used to doing this, there is a useful guide at https://www.pipeten.info/2011/07/dumping-restoring-mysql/ which might be worth checking out.

In reply to: Installing on Windows hostingMost of the functionality will work fine on Windows, all the basic stuff you need anyway, although it may not be quite as fast on Windows because it is not a native platform for PHP, saying thay, it is probably not significant enough to notice unless you’ve loaded it up with plugins.
You don’t get .htaccess on Windows so if you use that for anything usually, that won’t work. However the main thing you’ll probably find that that doesn’t work on Windows is the Search Engine Friendly URLS as that requires mod_rewrite which is also a Linux specific technology.
If you do use any plugins it is best to check if they do specifically work on Windows.
Generally, the best thing to do is just give it a go and see how you get on.
I hope that helps,
Gav.

In reply to: Lifestyle Coach site – got their in the end.Hi Andy, the site looks great. Are you sure you’ve not used a template? ?? It is very impressive since you’ve not used CSS before as that can mess with your head a bit.

In reply to: First serious blog, music oriented; do you like the design?I think it looks great. I don’t see a problem with any of the fonts or colours you used.
The only thing I would change it the logo at the top which is slightly blurry and maybe fill the letters in with white to make them stand out instead of sticking with the pale pink in there too.
I’d check any .htaccess files you may have there and check your config files to make sure they do have the right details in for the new server. You could also disable any plugins you may have installed and see if they have anything to do with it.
