hi bryle, i tried to solve it on my own and actually did different sites across 3 hosts : godaddy, siteground and hostgator. I am very experienced with backups and I actually preferred manual over plugins because Im used with that. Im using Updraft since 2018 and finally, had a chance to restore my website because I want a separate staging sites.

sadly all 3 hosts failed restoration. I want to contact support actually but it just astonished me that none of them were able to finished backup. 2 of the hosts failed at database restoration and godaddy I think failed on the initial restoration of files.

I dont think my site has issue because it works perfectly via manual backup across all 3 hosts. I apologize if I did not give updraft a chance to resolute my concern, but being used to manual restoration – I never thought updraft made it more complicated.

so imagine if this happened on an actual case of site getting hacked or irreversible compatibility/coding issues – my site will be down for days since i need to wait for updraft support to resolute the restoration concern which defeats the purpose of the plugin – make backup and restoration just a click of a button.
