^^ So the above worked successfully. I was able to import my posts into my new wordpress and also my pictures.

However, I noticed that the posts/links that I had deleted before the move are still evident and are still being found by Google/Yahoo. How do I get rid of this problem?

^ I dunno. I added the propagating nameservers just to make sure I don’t make a step but you make a lot more sense. So I won’t need to muck around with my databases right? Transferring my images via FTP is ok?

What I Plan to Do Now:-

– Clean up existing Blog
– Use EXPORT tool from old wordpress
– Apply for new hosting (transferring my existing domain to them)
– Propagate DNS nameservers
– Fresh install of WordPress (via Fantastico/Simplescripts/Independent) on new hosting
– Adjust permalinks on new hosting
– Use IMPORT tool in new wordpress
– Transfer via FTP images from wp_content/uploads
– Upload/Transfer current theme to new hosting
– Install new plugins to new hosting
– If necessary, meddle with .htaccess on new hosting

Is that better?

SORRY!! Actually, I made my comment before realising there was an edit button. I think I was just flustered & in a haze ‘cos I couldn’t get my youtube videos to work…

I’m not spamming. If you noticed the time that I commented on my original post here, it was a minute and a half later… I thought you might need to see my header or website source to see what my problem was. That’s why I posted my link.

I did get the embedding to work again. About an hour after I posted this help message. I realised what my problem was. My links were still hyperlinked.

I found out the reason. When you use the embed code …make sure the links are not highlighted a links.

I don’t understand. If I post the code by podcastnyc it embeds but when i post my own youtube code it doesn’t work… why?
