Installed, but makes no difference. I already am on 5.5 … so do I need to re-install 5.5 in the presence of this plugin for the plugin to make any difference? If Yes, how does one install 5.5 for a second time when it is already installed?

Replacing their js files in plugins -> wp-tiles -> assets -> js (only 8 of them, although I guess only one of them is really buggy) by the 1.0.1 files from the zip file mentioned by petsoukos (above) worked for me, without noticable side effects.

I guess they will eventually publish a bug fix. Till then I am happy with this workaround.
