In reply to: NextGen Gallery: Galleries don’t display after 2.8!Alex,
website link is here
scroll past the first couple of images and you will see the broken shortcodes. Any of the photography links in the right column contain one or more albums and galleries. Server details were posted previously
Direct email is [email protected] if you wish to look closer at the source
regards

In reply to: NextGen Gallery: Galleries don’t display after 2.8!bump to the top as I believe this to be a significant issue with the latest NextGen version and wp2.8
At the moment my website is full of broken links because the singlepic shortcode isn’t functioning, thumbnails aren’t generated when I upload images, album and gallery column displays aren’t functioning (i.e. set columns to zero and there is just a single column of images, changing the value doesn’t change anything) Server details uploaded earlier in the thread. Any thoughts Alex ?? I’m prepared to give you unrestricted access to the website if this would help debug the problen for myslef and other users with the same issues
regards

In reply to: NextGen Gallery: Galleries don’t display after 2.8!Hi Chris,
your method is the normal way I ‘fix’ my site after a nextgen upgrade but I tried it when I upgraded to wp2.8 and nextgen 1.3.3 without the expected success. I’ve recently updated to 2.8.1-beta and again tried the ‘fix’ without any change in the situation.
Until Alex comes up with a bug fix I think I’m stuck with horrible looking website
use
[gallery id=x]
to display a gallery on a page rather than use the direct url to the gallery folder. The link to the page with the gallery on will show in the sidebarForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: NextGen Gallery: Galleries don’t display after 2.8!Alex, if it helps with the debugging I am willing to provide full access to website/server so you can investigate the problem

All the images in albums and galleries are just listed below each other. This can seen under the Photography link on the home page detailed below.
I’ve tried disabling plugins, default theme and updating the permalinks which was normally the quick fix but nothing is fixing the issue.
The problems can be seen at https://www.photosbykev.com and scanning down the page where the [singlepic ….] commands are only showing the alt-text for the image as a link rather than embedding a scaled image. This bug is occuring on every post and page on the site.

Sorry this should of said the alt-text is being displayed rather than the image.

In reply to: 2.6.0 > 2.6.2 upgrade. Lost access to Admin loginRipose: wp-config.php settings are correct.
It seems that the login is working however it doesnt direct me to the wp-admin page. If I reload the site I can get to the admin section via the “edit this page” on the bottom of any page

In reply to: 2.6.0 > 2.6.2 upgrade. Lost access to Admin loginThanks for the link Otto42 I check through the permissions set on my server and they look ok.
I’ve now discovered when I try to log in and get the “You don’t have permission to access /wordpress/wp-admin/ on this server.” message if I reload the main site I can access all the admin pages via the “edit this page” link that appears at the bottom of each page.
So the login IS working but I don’t get redirected directly to the Admin side of the installation. Very odd ???
it would benefit clients who want to see large resolution images before purchase. But probably not that useful to general users.
on my site https://www.photosbykev.com I use the cforms II plugin that allows users to comment on the site and email you images. The images are automatically placed into a gallery folder which I can then just scan to ‘import’ the new image.
That sorted it Alex ?? I assumed I needed to check the permalinks within the Gallery settings as well as the WP settings. Thank you for the prompt response.
ps have you seen or considered using a zoomify type of feature within the nextgen gallery for very high resolution images? Something like this https://www.photosbykev.com/wordpress/index.php/photography/panoramic/cemaes-bay/

In reply to: [Plugin:nextgen-gallery] pictures appear faded and washed outwashed out images are typically the result of the images not being saved in sRGB color space before you upload them. If you upload a aRGB color space image it looks low contrast and pastel colours when viewed in a broswer
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Gallery2 and WordPress on One DatabaseI’ve installed wordpress into the same server and database, nice to see they integrate ok ?? I’ve installed the WPG2 plugin but can’t get it to validate ?? I’m running Gallery 2.2.3 and wordpress 2.3 but for some reason WPG2 isn’t happy even if I do have all the right paths and G2 modules loaded
