In reply to: [The Stars at Night] Missing moon imagesupdate on this question
It’s the moon age calculation that is incorrect it appears to return a value between 0-27 rather than 1-28 so the new moon age of 28 looks for the moon age of 0.

KevI enabled the WP_DEBUG option and looked at the home page at https://www.photosbykev.co.uk again.
This plugin was generating the following errors for some reason, as it’s been working fine for a number of years.
Notice: Use of undefined constant PB_SETTINGS_BG_OPACITY – assumed ‘PB_SETTINGS_BG_OPACITY’ in /home/cluster-sites/4/p/photosbykev.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/panopress/panopress.php on line 137
Notice: Undefined index: css in /home/cluster-sites/4/p/photosbykev.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/panopress/panopress.php on line 232
I deleted the plugin and reloaded it and everything seems to be close to working again, one display issue with the errant plugin but I’ll work on that

KevI’m using the Justified Image Grid plug-in to manage the image display, very pleased with it and it’s extremely flexible.

Kevupdate: I’ve sorted the watermark (I think) somehow in the Gallery > Watermark settings the water had been set to use an image rather than text. It isn’t something I’ve done so maybe something changed in an update?
The host throttling issue is still happening so any thoughts on that issue would be appreciated.
Kev
Hi Cais,
that’s where I noticed the problem so no the text watermark isn’t visible when viewing the large image under Gallery > Manage Gallery. It also doesn’t appear in the main website. These are the images where the text watermark started to fail https://www.photosbykev.com/wordpress/bat-echolocation/
best regards
Kev LewisHi Cais,
The host throttling issue was the first thing I noticed about 4 days ago when I tried to apply the text watermark to 10 images. To workaround it I added the watermark by selecting one image at a time. Today I noticed that the watermark wasn’t actually being applied to the images even though the operation appeared to complete successfully.
I haven’t updated any plugins in the last two weeks so I’m at a loss to explain what is causing the throttling and watermarking issues.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Backup was unsuccessfulThank you for the prompt response Ashley,
I had a quick look at the log myself to see if I could make any sense of it and eventually saw the Dropbox API error line.
I de-authenicated and re-authenicated with Dropbox and did a manual backup again which was successful
Life is good ??

Kev LewisMy first installation Of NextGen was back in the days of the original software author Alex, maybe 5 years ago. I was a fairly early adopter of the plug-in as Alex provided some significant support to get my site live.

KevIt’s strange that you say it’s a known problem since .16 because the problem didn’t occur on my site running .16 where I did have the sort order set to descending (I’ve always used this sort order with the NextGen plugin) it only raised it’s head when I installed .17 version.

KevI’ve been using NextGen on my site for 4-5 years and updated the plug-in when WordPress plugin manager told me there was a update for it. The ‘fix’ above has corrected the problem on my site temporarily so thank you very much for that but I didn’t find the fix even after searching the forum.

In reply to: v3.7.1 auto update Database update stuck in loopAkismet appeared to be the main issue, for some reason in October I got hit with over 40,000 spam comments. Akismet caught them but wasn’t deleting the spam comments quickly enough and they were retained in the DB causing it to grow at an alarming rate.

In reply to: v3.7.1 auto update Database update stuck in loopok final update:
with the hosting package increased to unlimited storage and bandwidth and, more importantly, an increase in DB filesize limit to 500Mb all the issues have been resolved ?? The DB update completed successfully and I can access the dashboard to update some plug-ins for v3.7.1.
Life is good and WP is better lol

In reply to: v3.7.1 auto update Database update stuck in loopupdate: talking with my hosting technical support my SQL database hit 150Mb during the WP upgrade which is the limit on the hosting package I have. I’ve requested an upgrade to give me a 500Mb database limit on the server which, fingers crossed, will resolve the issue.
When the upgrade is complete I’ll update the thread.

KevThank you for the prompt response Alex ?? NextGEN it turning into one hell of a plugin.

In reply to: NextGen Gallery: Galleries don’t display after 2.8!I eventually sorted my galleries and shortcode problem by:
1. Deactivating NextGen
2. Removing the NextGen plugin from the plugin folder
3. Downloading a fresh copy of v1.3.3 and installing it to the normal folder
4. Reactivating NextGen
5. Updating the permalinks to another structure and then changing back to the structure I wanted and updating them again.Everything works ?? No idea what the problem was and I know others have tried this without success but it has worked for me.
