Yes, thanks, I know how to change the home and siteurl settings in the database. I did that and went back to old site, just to be sure, I set them correctly for new site. All is good there. I’ve also read that entire article prior with close scrutiny and did all the steps, besides several other articles.
Update: I did the URL changes to all relevant tables in my database for the /new_wp directory, and moved the updated plugins folder to /new_wp directory. The blog is now accessing the new directory files, but is missing a few elements — but that’s okay for now. Once I can login to the WP admin, then I can fix these things.
Still have problem with logging into the new site
When I type this in my browser:
https://mysite.com/new_wp/wp-amdin/
This url appears in the browser status bar – and the login page loads.
https://mysite.com/new_wp/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fmysite.com%2Fnew_wp%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1
I enter login information and then the browser status bar shows as:
https://mysite.com/new_wp/wp-login.php and blank page.
Refresh on that page, does nothing, just shows the blank page.
