I have more than 1,000 pages (not posts) at different levels of hierarchy that I’d like to be able to add previous and next links to. Everything I’ve seen (including the link that valuxes supplied) talks about adding this functionality to post pages, not to pages. I want to add it to plain old pages.

So if someone is at hierarchy level 1 on my site, I want them to be able to go to the previous and next pages at that level of hierarchy (my pages all have a logical progression). If someone drills down to hierarchy level 2, I want them to be able to do the same thing on that level. And so forth.

Is this possible? It would seem that the logic exists since I can order my pages by assigning a numerical value to them. Does WP allow me to call on them dynamically? I can code this manually if I have to, but I’d really rather not.

I’ve searched for plugins and found nothing that does what I want to do. The post by millsy above is the first I’ve seen mention of what I want from anyone else.

Anyone have any ideas?

Fixed for me now in build 9841.

I’m getting the same error message:

Warning: Cannot use a scalar value as an array in /home/philgons/public_html/wp-includes/classes.php on line 826

But I’m getting it only on my pages (e.g., https://philgons.com/about/).

I’m running 2.7b3 (build 8826).

I’m having the same issue. It actually posts them, but I get the message, “You attempted to edit a post that doesn’t exist. Perhaps it was deleted?”

In another thread, someone suggested that the problem was a non-responsive ping service. But I’m not sure how to find out which one is non-responsive. Any ideas?

I’m getting the same thing with 2.7b3. How can I find out of one of the ping services isn’t responding?

mrmist, I removed the pages widget and reinstalled 2.7b3, but I still get the same fatal error. I wonder if there are some other conflicts?

ryanhellyer, removing line 429 didn’t work, but, pdreissen, both of your suggestions did fix that problem. However, I started getting a different problem, so I rolled back to 2.7b1.

mrmist, good to know the cause of the problem. I removed the pages widget and may trying upgrading again. We’ll see.

I’m sorry for my ignorance here, but I think I’m going to need a little more detail. I don’t know anything about apache.

Two additional items. (1) I don’t have this problem on my computer at home, only my computer at work. Not sure why. (2) I cleared my browser cache, and the problem almost went away. Now everything looks and acts properly, excerpt that the insert button doesn’t work. Not sure what’s going on.
