@wfalaa Yes, I know that updating plugins regularly is important, which is why I use a central plugin manager to monitor and update all dozen or so WP installs that I have. Because of this, I don’t need WF to monitor plugin updates (or at least I don’t need WF to put this in a special notification).

I realize this is not a huge deal, but in principle I do not like plugins which assume importance or become more conspicuous within my admin interface over time.

All I am asking for is the ability to turn off these notifications, and to choose the ability to pick which kinds of notifications we receive.

Are you referring to the dot with the number in it next to “Wordfence” in the admin menu? If so, I agree with you. It seems that after the last update Wordfence decided to make its notifications more prominent, including notifications about plugins that need updating. I wish I could turn this off. I would only want notifications of serious issues (e.g. potential malicious code) on my site, but if I constantly see the WF notification lighting up I am bound to start ignoring it.

This happened to me and the way I resolved it was by reinstalling WP.

I actually ran into this problem again on another site and disabling the flash blocker and uBlock did not work. I finally figured out that there was a conflict with either WordFence security plugin, or with WP Super Cache. I disabled both of those plugins, activated Jetpack, and then it was able to connect with site stats.

I had this same problem and found this post. I then remembered that my browser (Firefox) uses both a flash blocker and uBlock to automatically block elements on sites, and so turning it off once I landed on WordPress.com and reloading the page made Jetpack connect successfully.

I checked and the folder is set to 755.

Any change in this? It would be great if we could move at least 50 at a time.

Still getting this error message. I noticed the plugin author updated the plugin 5 days ago but has not yet addressed this issue.

Where is the support? This problem has not gone away.

Actually, I used to have html code in the Home Page Sub Heading area, but when I made a change today it only generated raw HTML code. The developers must have changed something in one of the updates to do this. Not a good move.

Same exact thing happened to me. Investigating.

I discovered I had the same problem. Backups became bloated sometime between January 31 and February 7 – around 9x or more compared to what it was supposed to be. I tried out the 3.4.4 beta and that seemed to fix the problem. Thanks!

Sarah, you may want to double check under Settings > Reading and then under “Search Engine Visibility” to make sure that “Discourage search engines from indexing this site” is unchecked.

Go in to WordFence and under Options > Firewall Rules, uncheck “Immediately block fake Google crawlers”. See if that works as it did for me. I think that the Yoast indexing message is appearing because Yoast is using what WF considers to be a fake Google crawler. When I went to Google’s own “Fetch as Google” tool, the site would render even though Yoast claimed it was not being indexed.
