I agree on all the points you talked about.
I think that the Retroactive changes to pictures is crucial and I wish there were more options to this uploading capability in 2.5. Maybe 2.6 will bring the wanted changes… ??

I wish I could create thumbnails whose size I could modify when uploading and I wish a fast image overlay thing would be integrated… I always have to feeling it slows down my page if I add heavy Java Scripts… ??

BTW: I don’t really think that Twitter is the best substitude for this. However, if I don’t find anything useful, I’ll just add a twitter function. I wish you could also edit it in an ajaxy way like the Facebook status updates. Darn it. I WISH I could code this… ??

I happen to be looking for exactly the same thing. Sometimes there is a shout out I want to make that isn’t really worth a blog post. It would be ideal to have it listed in an own category, but just excluded from the main view.
There has to be something like this out there.

Do you guys think this was caused by the wordpress software? my wp_post database was hurt. luckily i had a backup!

BTW, I already posted new entries on wordpress 2.5 and it worked!

2.5 allows to insert a video. but it only embeds a link to the video… any idea how to change that to [youtube LINK] because then my plugin could work with that code…

I now have gallery posts on my blog (philsblogging.com) and it is working quite nice. once 2.5 is stable and offers customization of the gallery feature (next, previous image links I can’t find when I want to click thru a gallery) I’ll just keep doing that and create posts that include a gallery. It’s been working like this. I am thinking of putting the overview grid of the gallery in a grey field or something, so users can see that this is a gallery.

now i am using zenphoto. you should take a look at it…

I would make the header also available for flash slides ?? which looks really good on my page right now.
I’d make it easier for you guys to adjust it to your wishes by commenting.
