Hi Josh ~
Many thanks for the reply and insights. I gave the article about frameworks a spin. While it gives me an idea of what might be on the horizon for me in terms of customization tools and methods, the topic is still above my head since I haven’t ever done much coding. I’m certain I’ll dive into this and it will all make more sense once I get my feet wet by doing a few little tweaks to my prescribed theme. However, what I was looking for initially was more of a simple step-by-step guide on how to access and make simple tweaks to the files that already define my theme/site. That said, I’m using one of the free themes WordPress offers. The idea that WordPress would even permit editing to one of their free themes (beyond what their GUI allows) is a presumption of mine, and if my presumption is incorrect, please disabuse me of it! Otherwise, I’m hoping someone can point me to how I would access my site’s files (using FTP, or some other protocol).
Many thanks again,
~Nik
