Maybe the wording “You should add an entry of your own, before you delete this one,” should be added to it.

I guess I should have used the word “parameters” instead of “variables”. I want a dropdown category list that is heiarchal in nature, displaying the subcategories under the parent categories. I don’t see that as a variable choice with the dropdown tag:
<?php dropdown_cats(all,'name','sort','order',display,count,hide); ?>
Is there any way to make that happen?

What I would like is an email notification of when a post is added to a thread (or threads) of my choosing on this forum board. I’m tired of having to use a feed reader. But, that’s a different issue.
Here’s my request… is there any way to make that plugin category-specific? I mean, have notices sent to subscribers when entries from a certain category (or categories) are made, instead of all entries?

I have reinstalled WP to a different subdirectory and updated my status to a new thread.

I needed a guide because I’m not a coder. I use a WYSIWYG editor to make my webpages. I tried to insert WP tags into my design, and then made it a php file, but I just kept getting different errors. So, you can see that I’m really stupid when it comes to this.

Any help that you can offer me would be much-appreciated. I’m sure that other people in the same situation as I am in could use the help, too. I re-read my post above and I erroneously stated that I have a “frame-based” website. that should have read “table-based”. Sorry.

So, it is possible to get all of the functionality of WP into my own pre-existing website design? Is there anywhere I can read more about actually how this is done? I’m just looking for a general outline. I think I can figure it out from there.

Wow, that was too easy. Another “DUH!” for me. Also, the reason my categories weren’t showing up is that I didn’t check the main category along with the subcategory. I didn’t realize that if an entry is to have a sub category, its parent category has to be checked also, or it won’t show under the category list.

Have you taken a look at the Coppermine plugin? I know that Coppermine blows, but it might be the next best thing to a Menalto Gallery and WordPress integration.

If you could combine the features of Menalto Gallery (I especially like the new java thingy of Menalto that displays fullscreen slideshows) and the taxonomy of WP, your image gallery would be better than any other out there.
