Oops! I spoke too soon. I’ve been having reoccurring problems with it NOT finding some product categories. I have over 6,200 categories and it fails to find the one(s) I’m looking for about 30% of the time. The categories DO exist, and “yes” I’m typing them in the search field correctly. It just cannot find them for some reason.

It’s a real pain, because then I have to go through list after list in that tiny selector box, through the alphabetized listing, until I locate the category(ies) I was searching for. I wish that this plugin worked EVERY time, not just most of the time. Still, it is a time-saver, so I shouldn’t complain.

Kept searching (“Never give up!”) and found this plugin that puts a search field above all of the places where there are categories, even product categories.

So, that’s a “yes” for number 1, and a “we’ll see” for number 2. Got it.

What if I just want to add a lot of product categories and subcategories, without adding products. Will this work for that? If not, do you know anything that would?

Yeah, I have the same problem. Too bad this plugin hasn’t kept up with the latest WordPress version. I don’t know of any other current plugin that claims to get rid of tables left over from old plugins.

That is too much trouble for me, as several settings have to be changed each time I move the site from live to local and back again. I thought that by this time, 11 years after xampp came out, something a bit more user-friendly for local WordPress development would have come out. No?

My theme, Spirit, has source ordering. It’s old, but stable and can be made to look a lot different if you use your own graphics.

I compromised and decided to mark questionable posts as “private” and allow only my closest friends and family members to read them through assigning roles. That way, I can at least continue my weblog’s open-book policy without the fear of incrimination.

I found the answer to my own question. I merely changed “post_modified” to “modified” and now it works.

Nevermind, my problem doesn’t relate to this. (Sure wish there was an option to delete my post here.)

Doesn’t cPanel full backup do that?

Based on the advice here, I went ahead and had my domain server host change me to a server with PHP v5.2.5 and MySQL v5.0.45 and I didn’t do a thing, except request a nameserver change with my registrar. My site looks as it did before, no problems whatsoever. Thanks for the assurance!
