In reply to: New guestbook plugin: RumWallGreetings RummandDan … Just wanted to pop in and say “THANK-YOU” … I just installed this Rumm-Wall on my personal blog – it’s exactly what I want. I had a tag-board, but I removed it instead for this. I renamed your wall.php file and included my sidebar, as well as changed the
td align="right"
to"center"
in my case. I don’t think I will bother with any CSS on this one … So, you may all feel free to come and sign my guestbook .. It would be nice to test it out anyway ??

In reply to: NEW: Upgrade to 1.5.2..further to mySql error … I have fixed my problem. The error (as usual) was me – I was required to edit one of the newly replaced files listed in the ‘unofficial’ upgrade suggestions – wp-settings.php … my USERONLINE script required that I modify that file, and add
$wpdb->useronline = $table_prefix . 'useronline';
in there after the$wpdb->postmeta
line. I did that on the first one, but not on the second – or, I thought I did on both but uploaded the new file without saving the changes first, so it was like not changing anything.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: NEW: Upgrade to 1.5.2Beel: I stand corrected, I did not edit any files in the wp-admin directory, but have added to the folder.. // I have now converted two blogs .. both are unique and I guess share the same database. https://PetLvr.com/blog/ and https://1800HART.com/blog/ .. In both, a plug-in used is “UserOnline” v.1.5 by GaMerz … it seemed to work fine in the first conversion .. In the second conversion, well – I’m getting a bad error that I don’t understand. .
“WordPress Database Error: You have an error in your SQL Syntax. Check the Manual that corresponds to your MySql server version for the right syntax to use near ‘Set timestamp=1124271908″,ip=’142.161.171.143’, .,. blah blah blah” … Those two numbers are recurring in my sidebar. The second, is my IP address, but don’t know what the first represents. I was as careful on the 2nd conversion and I was on the 1st conversion.
Any thoughts?

In reply to: NEW: Upgrade to 1.5.2ut-oh .. disable plugins?? Hmm .. I just converted my 1.5.1.2. version to 1.5.2. using the “unofficial” suggestion, on Page 1 of this forum. I first deleted the files, then copied over the new ones. So far, everything appears to be fine. But, now that I think of it, I remember some of my early plug-ins suggested I modify files besides the template design and plug-in directories.. but i never marked it down. I hope it’s okay. But, I can post. I can see my blog. I think I’m okay. Am I? Are there tell tale signs to look for to indicate it wasn’t a clean upgrade?

In reply to: Not even Default Theme is WorkingConclusion on this matter. it seems that besides my main /blog/ directory .. I have either manually inserted (or a plug-in copied it without my knowledge??) the .htaccess into my /blog/wp-content directory as well. Once I deleted this, everything went back to normal. Sorry to waste cyberspace, unless someone else can learn from this error and benefit.

In reply to: Not even Default Theme is WorkingPaola … I have a similar problem .. I have two blogs on my site… PetLvr.com/blog/ and 1800HART.com/blog Both were working two days ago, and now the 2nd shows the content and no theme or CSS or anything … I thought you were onto something, because I did add my own .htaccess file (which I’ve never done before) to the 2nd blog root directory. From what you suggest – i just deleted it. Now I still can’t load any theme up but, I am getting a partial recognition in that the layout is at least a little organized .. Any further suggestions? In reply to: enable sending referrersListen .. I can’t recall where I saw this – probably under the same error message, different thread – but there was a suggestion to ignore the https://URL/blog/ and just put /blog/ and it worked – I am now able to post, change themes, delete comments, and I assume full admin rights …. Just passing this along … it’s a good ‘reco’ to try to fix if you get same message and don’t know what the heck is going on

In reply to: enable sending referrersI need help. I just set-up my second blog, basically by following shortcuts I did with the first one, including themes, plug-ins, etc etc. Here’s the catch. I was doing okay – https://www.HBSMC.com/blog/ but the name of this blog is 1-800-HART and I actually have a domain alias of https://www.1800HART.com equal to HBSMC.com so I changed the defaults in the options so everything would have the https://www.1800HART.com/blog/ address. I changed my mind and switched the options back to its original URL settings of HBSMC.com … Now I am getting the Enable Sending Referrers error message and I can’t get past it. I can’t change themes or do anything really …
PS i’ve been through all the codex help pages and did exactly what I did before I started, as I did with the first blog PetLvr.com/blog/ and it was working. I also went into my database to see if anything wrong .. nothing unsual was noted, but I’m not a MySQL person. My URL’s are listing the same as it was installed HBSMC.com/blog/ and as in my options.
Any advice or troubleshooting URL’s anybody can recommend?

In reply to: Really Slow Sidebar LoadingI am looking for recommendations to speed up loading of my pages at https://www.PetLvr.com/blog .. I spent all weekend fixing it because it looked okay with my preferred Internet Explorer but looked like crap with Firefox and Netscape. So – that should work okay now. However, I went to my folks place who has “low-speed cable” which, to me is like Dial-up and he was on 800×600 screen … the page wouldn’t even load.
I’m sure the halting and slowing up is due to my showing the past 14 days of posts in the main section and all the added junk in my sidebar such as Stats links, affiliate banners, tag-board, stuff like that … the timer doesn’t even show up in I.E. but in netscape shows 17 queries. 2.832 seconds and firefox shows 17 queries. 2.473 seconds .. In reality for me, it is taking more time it seems.
Any recommendations? What should I get rid of first or can fix to speed this up? I feel like I’m spending too much time as a programmer and webmaster, instead of a blogger etc..

In reply to: Browserama Kubrick Template Screenshots in Different Browsershttps://binarybonsai.com/k2 See Entry #35 .. I managed to figure out myself how to fix … just wanted to pass this along so nobody else suffers as I did.
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Browserama Kubrick Template Screenshots in Different BrowsersI wish someone could help me and point me in the right direction. I have been modifying my site, using default (kubrick) template, mostly in the sidebar. I think it looks okay, at least using Internet Explorer … https://www.PetLvr.com/blog/ … But, the header is WAAAY screwy if viewed in netscape or firefox! This is not good. I had added a few other CSS stylings in my style.css file which, I also use in my other websites and they show up fine in all the browsers…. Then .. why not using wordpress?
Any suggestions? .. Thanks in Advance.

In reply to: bookmarklet…FOLLOW UP! Good News.. I found this link that had quite useful instructions how to remove items from your Right Click on the menu.

In reply to: bookmarklet…Is this still and active forum? That revised “mindful musing” right-click bookmarklet works great. I have no idea and have unsuccessfully tried to delete entries from my registy before installing this new wordpress.reg script to no avail. In my I.E. if I right click, I still see the old one “Post to WP (my blogsite)” … Can someone explain how to remove this from my IE browser? I don’t care if it stays in my registry (ok I do) but it’s very annoying having two of them ..
Thanks in advance
