by the way: yes – these users can log in, but they can’t access their profile in the network site’s admin area. for that, a super admin has to manually add the user to the network site.

Hi! I’ve just installed the domain mapping plugin – and it works great!

The only issue I have is with user registrations. Scenario:

1. my site is at maindomain.net
2. I create a subdomain blog and map it to mappeddomain.net
3. someone visits mappeddomain.net and try to register (as a subscriber), by using the link https://mappeddomain.net/wp-login.php?action=register from the “meta widget”

What happens here is that the user first is redirected to mappeddomain.net/signup.php, and then immediately to maindomain.net/signup.php, which is a completely diffferent blog – different look, and of course, different domain name, which would be very confusing to users. Additionally, in the mail you get when you register, the link supplied is to maindomain.net… And the user is not even added to the blog at mappeddomain.net, so when he tries to log in, he gets a page telling him “You don’t have permission to view this site. Please contact the system administrator.”

Any thoughts on this?

I can stay logged in, but user registrations are redirected to the main network site (when a user tries to register at mappeddomain.com, they are redirected to maindomain.com, and the user is not added to the mappeddomain.com site)

that explains a lot! I tried with a different url in the widget (without the comma), and sure enough, it worked! I just had to choose the wpgmt localization, and the times displayed correctly! thanks a bunch!

Hi! Gosh.. that was a quick fix ?? well about the timezone thing, when I use the fbcal feed directly (which gives the best result – check it out, I have put it there now instead of a fbcal-rendered-through-google-calendar feed) – I have to correct the timezone in the shortcode. And when I do that, that seems to also affect the timezone adjustment in the widget! but only when it is shown on the same page.. so I have hidden the widget on the calendar page to avoid confusion (but it is just hidden with css, so you should be able to see it if you dispel the display:none magic)

Also – the URL https://www.fbcalendar.com/cal/100000445265961/f7559a90b446a41746dfd4a0-100000445265961/events/ics/attending,unsure/ still gives an error message when used in the widget (but as earlier, it works very well in the shortcode). When the URL is entered in the widget admin panel, I get an error message saying invalid url -, and on the rendered page, I get the error message Unable to load or cache ical calendar unsure/tz/Europe-Oslo/ where the widget is supposed to be.

But anyways – I have kind of hacked my way around these problems now, so I must say I am all in all very impressed with the plugin! mucho kudos!

How is this widget set up? I tend to get different results when using the same settings for the widget and the regular shortcode usage. Specifically, timezones behave differently, and this url created by fbcal does work in the shortcode, but not in the widget:
