I have changed the permissions on the folders via ftp in wp-content > uploads so that the all files reflect the following:
User, group and world have read, write and execute modes all ticked with permission levels at 7,7,7.

Unfortunately, I have tried post a picture, and same thing happens it does not appear in my post.

Yes, sorry I mean WordPress.
1st, I go to upload media (I have no problem uploading files to my library) I then select the photo I want.
Then, when I select the picture, the cursor goes to the middle of the page, when I hit the post button, the picture does not show with the post.
