In reply to: Add background colour to my twitter feedThanks, that’s worked. Now I have to find the CSS code to make the edges of those boxes rounded and how to change the colour of the text within the boxes. Any help?

In reply to: Add background colour to my twitter feedThanks, I just tried that and now the plugin editor reads this:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘,’ in C:\inetpub\sites\test.petergostelow.com\wp-content\plugins\really-simple-twitter-feed-widget\really_simple_twitter_widget.php on line 35
I’m not sure where in the plugin editor CSS to add:
ul,really_simple_twitter_widget {
background: #000000;
}The plugin is deactivated with this placed in.
Hope that makes sense

In reply to: Create dividerCan you tell me where exactly in the CSS I should insert the code? Am totally new to CSS. Thanks
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Widen contentSorry, thanks. It seems to be fine now. I would ideally like to have the divide line to the right of the main content text and trhe left of the sidebar. Do I have to recreate the gif file and re-code it somehow in CSS?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Widen contentI have removed the gif file in my ftp and refreshed. Now at petergostelow.com the line is there, but disappears when I click the refresh button – the same is true for the other pages in navigation bar. Not sure I actually wanted to delete it, but rather have the divder to the left of where the side bar stuff comes in. Any suggestions? Thanks
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Widen contentOK, so I should just delete the divider line (main gif) in my FTP to see the line disappear on my site? I really want it to move to the right so that the text does not go over it, rather than to delete it. Thanks

In reply to: Uploading PDF file problemHave finally done it! Went to admin, Mis, and changed the upload details to those that match that in FTP file
wp-content/uploadsSure this might have been obvious to many.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Uploading PDF file problemI have been trying all evening to upload this pdf file to my website using WordPress (version 2.5).
The steps I have taken are as follows.
1) In FTP filezilla I locate and then upload the pdf file to wp-content/uploads/pdf (and ensure that file permission is saved at 777).
2) Go to upload page in wordpress and locate the pdf file from the hard-drive. The file starts uploading and then this message comes up
Unable to create directory /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/petergostelow.com/httpdocs/usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/petergostelow.com/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads. Is its parent directory writable by the server?
I still can’t understand why the pdf file won’t upload to my web-page.
Is there any other way I can go about it? Surely this should be a simple task?

In reply to: Uploading PDF file problemGetting a little out of my depth here. In my FTP I go to wp-content and change file attributes to 777 – this command seems ok
If I go through to wp-content/uploads, which is a sub-directory is it not, and try to update the file attribute to 777, I get this messageCommand: SITE CHMOD 777 uploads
Response: 550 CHMOD 777 uploads: Operation not permittedWhat do you mean by creating the wp-content/uploads via my control panel?
