Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Still can’t get install.php to executeTurns out I should have used localhost for the install. I distinctly recall being able to execute PHP code from File Explorer. At least I now know where I went wrong.
Thanks for all the helpful suggestions.

In reply to: Still can’t get install.php to executeThanks for all the responses. I did go to the Apache forum and now have Apache remaining open. However, I still can’t get .php to execute is, so e in the same way as a .html. All I see is a PHP code displayed in the browser. I’ve tried different browsers and Firefox says that PHP isn’t running, even though Apache is running. I need to go back to the Apache forum.

In reply to: Still can’t get install.php to executeI fixed that problem, but it wasn’t the cause. Checking the access.log I see
::1 - - [12/Aug/2022:02:27:25 +1000] "OPTIONS /ROOT/subscription%3ANTEventLogEventConsumer.Name%3D%22SCM%20Event%20Log%20Consumer%22 HTTP/1.1" 200 - "-" "Microsoft-WebDAV-MiniRedir/10.0.19043" ::1 - - [12/Aug/2022:02:27:25 +1000] "PROPFIND /ROOT/subscription%3ANTEventLogEventConsumer.Name%3D%22SCM%20Event%20Log%20Consumer%22 HTTP/1.1" 405 320 "-" "Microsoft-WebDAV-MiniRedir/10.0.19043" ::1 - - [12/Aug/2022:02:27:25 +1000] "PROPFIND /ROOT HTTP/1.1" 405 320 "-" "Microsoft-WebDAV-MiniRedir/10.0.19043"
Unfortunately, that doesn’t explain to me why it stops as soon as it starts. There’s nothing in the error log.

In reply to: Still can’t get install.php to executeJust checked and see that Apache has stopped. Restarted it and it shut down again. Here’s the error log:

In reply to: Not opening in browserThanks for your reply. I’ve installed WP many times but recently I’ve had this problem. I’ve just checked the file association for PHP and discovered it is set to a text editor. I don’t know when that happened, but I should have checked before posting to the forum.

In reply to: [Export any WordPress data to XML/CSV] Export Jetpack form data? Thanks, you’ve answered my question. The form must be on a feedback post type, not a page. My client’s site is a single page, so they’re out of luck unless they move the form to its own post.
Thanks for your help.

In reply to: [Export any WordPress data to XML/CSV] Export Jetpack form data? Thanks. My client has a landing page developed in Divi and which uses JetPack for site functions. The page has a form. I haven’t used WP-Export, which is why I wondered how it worked in this situation.
Can the landing page be designated “Feedback” or must the form be in a post?
Yes, Divi has its own form builder. I guess the answer lies with them. Thanks.

In reply to: [Export any WordPress data to XML/CSV] Export Jetpack form data? Thanks. So this is a Jetpack feature rather than a WP All Imports option?
That link was helpful. I’ve been able to view all the Jetpack modules now, and Contact Form is enabled. The Form Block say “To edit an existing form, edit the post or page from WP Admin, then click “Add Contact Form.””. The problem I now have is that Divi is the page editor and offers no corresponding feature that I can find. Am I missing something?
I’ve suggested the site owner get in touch with the Divi theme developer to get clarification as to why Form Block is not on offer.
Thanks. I presume Form Block is the standard way to capture details. I can see the feedback option. Nothing there, though, so how does this intercept the builtin function to send an email?
I may not have expressed myself well. The website has a petitions form and a contacts form. I’m told that when a user enters their details, an email is sent to the site owner (that’s not me). I’ve been asked to change this behaviour to send a CSV file instead, but see no way to access this forms function.
Also, these details aren’t entered in the database, otherwise I could have written a simple program to extract the data.
This problem has mysteriously corrected itself. Strange.

In reply to: [GeneratePress] 1.7.3 update error messageI’ve just remembered that for local sites, the plugin has to be deleted and the new version installed.
