n.b. I just came across this question where the OP seemed to have the same problem. I’ve been entering the additional line after the #BEGIN WordPress line – should it therefore be going before it at the very top of the file?

In the end I’ve migrated all the data from SEO Ultimate to Yoast WordPress SEO using SEO Data Transporter. The site seems to be loading at normal speed now, so hopefully it’s all resolved now.

OK, so I just re-installed SEO Ultimate and the site slowed way down, so it does seem to be this plugin.

It works fine on another site I have though that uses the Genesis Framework and a different theme. Is there any way of working out if there’s a compatibility issue between the theme and plugin?

I’ve deactivated all plugins and removed all the widgets in the footer. The site’s loading up a little faster, but it’s still pretty slow. Would there be anything else causing this issue?

Thanks for replying so quickly. How do I flush it – is it simply by selecting the “Empty all caches” option?

If so, is this something I need to do regularly? And if it is, do you think it’d be worth me deactivating the plugin completely seeing as I’ve not noticed any noticeable increase in speed on our site?

Thanks for the suggestion, but that doesn’t seem to be working unfortunately. I’ve just changed that part of the code and it continues acting like it always has. Could it be that there’s another part of the code somewhere that’s overriding this rule?
