I’m with Fatcow for hosting. I run a local mommy’s group site through them and was happy, so I jumped on board when I made the move to wordpress. Yup – holy cow! My husband has no issue with his wordpress site on the same account.

When I look in my media library, all I see from dec 27th on is the broken image thumbnail. I can click through to do the basic photo edits and see the image just fine, but it will not show in the thumbnail or in the post.

My only guess is that there is an issue with the folders in my hosting. I have 2 different 2010 folders and no 2011.

I would be fine with you having a look “under the hood.” I am still pretty new to wordpress (nov ’10). I’m just so tired of this problem! I’m wondering if my sidebar issue is part of it – any time (in any theme) I add a second sidebar, it appears below the posts, not where it should. It’s just a little limiting!

Anyway, I’d rather not post any login info out in the open. Let me get things backed up and let me know what all you would need to know.

    Thanks!

When I revert to twenty ten, the image is still broken. I don’t have this issue on two other blogs/websites I am running – one of them uses pagelines free as well (though not the most recent update). All three have different hosting, though my husband has no issues with his site through the same host as the problem blog.

    clear as mud, eh?

    Thanks!

Thank you! The suggestion of how to move the plugins in my files was quite helpful. I don’t have things fixed, however, I discovered a problem with my web hosting (after much persistence that it wasn’t wordpress’s fault that I could not access my plugins folder (or ANY wpcontent folders for that matter).

The issue has been escalated there and will hopefully resolve the dashboard issues. Once that is fixed, I’ll move on to the rss troubles.

Thank you so much for your time and help!

I will certainly try switching back to 2010 to see… whenever I can get to my dashboard again. Is there any way to disable a plugin from somewhere other than the dashboard? I just feel like I am stuck. Your advice has been great – I just don’t know how to do any of it without a dashboard.

I agree that wp is far superior to blogger – I’m just getting frustrated with all of my issues since moving over in November.

    Thanks!

oh – here’s a list of the plugins I currently have activated – I deleted any others yesterday:

    akismet
    all in one webmaster
    blogger to wordpress redirection
    dean’s permalink redirection
    do follow
    fast secure contact form
    html-javascript adder
    intensedebate
    online backup for wordpress
    topsy retweet

I went into another site I am developing through WP to make sure this wasn’t something with my computer. I had no problems there. I’m waiting for an open chat session with my web host in case there is an issue there, but their normal stance is that I need to check here on the wp forums or need to wipe everything clean and start from scratch with a new install.

    Thank you!

I viewed the source and saw the blank line at the top. That probably explains the feedburner issues. I’ll look into that later.

    I had Chrome freeze up this morning and had to force quit. I HAD been able to work in my dashboard until then. Now I just get a blank white screen again (though for the moment, my blog is still appearing). I checked the wp-config.php file and added the `define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’64M’);
` you suggested. That didn’t change anything.

Any other ideas? Could akismet be causing issues? I use intensedebate for comments and recently activated akismet after some suggestions to do so.

    My blog is rediscoveringdomesticity.com.
    Thanks!

I am beginning to think I should have stayed with blogger….

The problem is that I can’t see my dashboard at all. Now it appears that my blog is gone as well. Off to ask my web host what is going on. Thank goodness I backed it up fairly recently!

Oh – someone in another forum said that if I first imported to a wordpress.com blog and then to www.remarpro.com my photos would transfer. True? No?

    Blech. Ok – thanks!

so, in theory, I should be able to have the feedburner feed address read like: https://rediscoveringdomesticity.com/feed right now since I own the domain and just publish/host through blogger? When I change it to not have the blogspot, it stops working. I have tried to change it on blogger’s end as well.

I’m a little dense when it comes to these things so I want to make sure I completely understand before I move things.

    Thanks for your help!
