In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Fix the IP detectionHey there,
I’m sorry to hear about your experience.
But today it locked me out of the front end of my website, displaying an incorrect IP address and saying it’s been flagged as a security threat.
Could you contact us via this contact form and mention this thread? I’d like to check your site’s configuration. Via our private email form, please share your site’s URL and the IP that was flagged.
We’d like to look into why why Jetpack is slowing down your site.?That’s not an expected behavior and we’d be happy to investigate that further.
Thank you. We will be standing by for your response.

In reply to: [WP Super Cache] Downloads gz on start pageHey again @pampeano19,
I accessed your site and couldn’t replicate the issue. Can you check if the issue persists? Is WP Super Cache currently deactivated?
Could you check if you had Compress pages so they’re served more quickly to visitors checked under WP Super Cache Settings > Advanced > Miscellaneous. If it was checked, try to uncheck it and test if that fixes the issue.
Please let us know how it goes.
Thank you. We will be standing by for your response.
Hey again @manek43509,
Are you referring to the styles added here – https://www.manek.org.uk/?custom-css=7b1569269 ?
I haven’t analyzed the entire stylesheet, but the color declarations (white text on dark background) from the file do work for me.
Can you check if the issue persists? Please make sure to clear your browser’s cache.
If your custom CSS is not working, please share how you added the style and the declarations that are not applied.
Thank you!

In reply to: [Jetpack VaultPress Backup] Lost StatsHey there @itemvirtual,
I can see that stats for https://www.fanaticguitars.com/ start on May 24. Can you confirm if you had access to earlier stats before? I can see that you connected Jetpack also on May 24. I suspect that your site might have been disconnected before and therefore not registering stats.
Thank you. We will be standing by for your response.
Hey @abdulimran727,
Do you encounter the 503 error only when Jetpack plugin is activated? Do I understand correctly that you are able to access your WP Admin dashboard? Could you try to reinstall Jetpack? Does the issue persist?
I checked your site URL, as visible in one of the screenshots. It looks like you are using Cloudflare. Is that correct?
Can you refer to these guides to make sure you have Cloudflare configured to work with Jetpack?
https://jetpack.com/support/getting-started-with-jetpack/configure-jetpack-cloudflare/
https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/218377098-WordPress-JetPack-and-Cloudflare
If you still have trouble, I’d suggest contacting your hosting provider and asking them to check their security logs for any blocked requests to the
xmlrpc.php
file on your site, using the?Jetpack by WordPress.com
?user agent. If they only offer XML-RPC access by whitelisting IP addresses, then they will need to whitelist the IP addresses listed here.
I hope that the above points you in the right direction. If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to let us know!
Hey there again,
I wanted to share the link to the issue I opened. You’ll find it here – https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/30773. Thank you for reporting this behavior!Hey @mjvito,
Thank you for your additional feedback and details!
Do I understand correctly that the 1-second pause does help in your case as expected?Thank you!
Hey @xandermusic,
I tested the three URLs that you shared and was able to confirm that:- https://i0.wp.com/hangdala.hu/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Hangdala-cel-1.jpg?fit=940%2C788&ssl=1 returns status 400
- https://i0.wp.com/hangdala.hu/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Hangdala-cel-1.jpg?fit=940%2C788 works fine
- the original image https://hangdala.hu/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Hangdala-cel-1.jpg works fine.
I was not able to reproduce a similar behavior. At this point, I would recommend reinstalling and reconnecting the Jetpack plugin. Does it help?
In parallel, I’ve reached out to our developers for their insight. We’ll post an update once we’ve heard back from them.
Please stay tuned!
Hey there!
I get your point. When a user navigates from one image to another (either by swiping or using the controls) the image meta moves down out of the viewport. That’s made this way by design. Carousels are in general tricky to provide a seamless user experience. It’s even more tricky to be at once intuitive and thoroughly informative.
Visitors on mobile don’t seem to understand what’s going on.
Did you have a lot of users complaining about that? Or just an isolated case? Do you target a specific audience? To what extent the meta information is important to your users?
I am asking since my intuition is that with an opposite implementation, some users might find it “annoying” to have to scroll up each time to see the whole picture. What do you think?
Furthermore, if you have scrolled to another image while the meta info is open, and when you press the info button again, it close the meta info, but nothing “appears” to happen, then you press the info button again to re-open the meta info.
Great catch! I was able to confirm that. It seems to be a buggy behavior. I will be happy to report it to our developers by submitting a GitHub issue in the Jetpack repository.
Now, to answer your initial question directly:
Is there a way to modify the way the jetpack carousel works just using CSS?
The carousel uses JavaScript and scroll events to manage the behavior. While support for scroll events is slowly arriving in CSS, we’re still not there.
I hope that the above helps. Please feel free to share further questions and concerns.
Hey there,
When examining your connection on our end, we see that your site is connected.
That being said, there is an issue with the REST API request with the blog token:
http_request_failed: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 5001 milliseconds with 0 bytes received
At this point, I’d recommend contacting the hosting and asking them to allowlist Jetpack IPs as listed here:
?

Thank you!
Hey there,
Typically, Jetpack adds a stats script like so (please note that the number regularly changes):
<script defer="" src="https://stats.wp.com/s-202313.js" id="woocommerce-analytics-js"></script>
If you try to access https://stats.wp.com/s-202313.js directly, you will notice that you have access to the script.
I checked your site and found instead:
<script defer="" type="text/javascript" src="https://stats.wp.com/s-202313.js'%20defer%20" '="" id="woocommerce-analytics-js"></script>
If you try to access the URL from the
src
attribute you get 404 error and are redirected to https://wordpress.com/s-202313.js’%20defer%20%22/ – that’s how we handle 404 errors.I suspect that the
%20defer%20"
part is added by a performance plugin (likely Performance Lab in your case). Please temporarily deactivate Performance Lab, clear the cache if you have any cache solution, and check in your browser’s developer tools (right-click and Inspect) if the problem persists – you can refer to this screenshot https://d.pr/i/yueQqn
Hope that helps! Let us know if you have further questions.
Hey there,
My server uses nginx, so I use simple mode on wp super cache. But what is the reason for using simple mode to conflict with Redis object cache? How can I solve it? Thanks.
We are not aware of any conflicts between WP Super Cache, and object caching tools.
Could you please be more specific about the problem that you are facing? Please share some more details.
Thank you!Hey,
Thank you!
We’ve received your message and replied via email. I am closing this thread.
