  • I am having the same issue. Cannot see the site nor the login area. I tried to disable the web-config but not sure how I do that?Do I delete it through FTP? (That did not work) Even using filezilla, I cannot change write access on the web-config file. It just says that it is not recognized.

Also GOdaddy>windows server for a wordpress site.

    Hi,
I have activated my plugins. Could you please see what code I would have to add to get FB/G+ login to show up in the Login slider. The Register slider shows the social icons.
    The website link again:

    Hi,
So can you tell what code should I put in? If you tell me, I think I should be able to.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Thanks for getting back. But if you just saw this, then I am afraid you saw it just after I deactivated the facebook login plugin since I am trying to fix some other issues in the site. Did you see the “Login with Facebook/Google” option in the “Register” panel? I want those options to show up in the Login panel as well. I am not sure what you mean by “you need to add the link to the our plugins template: wp-sliding-login-register-panel.php at line (#75) after </form>”. Add something to the php file? Please clarify. Thanks!

    Ok,
So this is what I did-
I went in to the MYSQL settings through myPHP but I found that I had all the strings correct. And I did not want to add anything to the htacess file especially since i could not find it. So this is what I did and it worked:

In the MAC OS, the os has a annoying habit of preventing write access to files that have been downloaded or been transferred from another machine. SO when I was unzipping the WP folder, all the folders had no write permissions! So all I had to was change the permissions, upload it, changed the wp+login php to my details, changed permissiong on the WP_content folder through Godaddy’s admin panel and made sure that the path in the WP Setting page was correct. And thankfully, it all has started working. Learned a lot through this ordeal- Apple was really giving me a pain in the bottom!

Hope this helps people working on Mac platforms.

What I am asking is where is he public_html folder? I havent been able to locate it in the wordpress part of the site.

@cyberium, that was one of the first things that I did but it did not help at all. Somewhere I read about some MYSQL permissions but I am really confused about that. The server shift happened earlier and I installed WP only after the transfer was effected so I doubt that it could be a issue.

The .htaccess file- so it is related to the main website and not the wordpress folder?

    Hi
I am not a coder so am asking this basic question: where do i find the .htaccessfile and change it? I am having this same problem in one of the sites I am working on.

    This is the scenario:
The site is domain hosted among many domains in one single account.
The guy who handled the website earlier recently moved servers and we want to change the main website to wordpress.

I am not being able to upload pictures because of the same error as posted here. I tried everything and this may be the answer.

I am not being able to change permissions on the uploads folder either- perhaps the server doesnt allow anyone to change folder permissions?

My own website is only domain in my personal hosting account and wordpress works flawlessly (I used godaddy’s automatic app setup) so I am baffled.

    Please advise.
    Thanks.
