In reply to: images mysteriously disappeared in multisitePerfect! That did the trick. Thanks!
I’ve also created a screen shot.
Here’s the link to that:

What I’ve done is reactivated the page so you can take a look. I can only leave this up for a couple days at the most.
The template that I’m using is the rsvp-envelope, which is good, because you can see how the background image – which is purple with diagonal lines – moves down as the envelope opens up.

By the way, I ran the update for the Landing Pages plugin today and it didn’t solve the problem. Everything is up to date plugin wise.
Thanks!

In reply to: best way to get subscribers with free downloadThe first thing I had to do is just be okay with the idea of people finding and sharing my free report. It’s not a bad thing if you have something that’s good enough that people want to share it.
What I ended up doing was signing up for a free mailchimp account. They have a double-opt-in capability.
I also used a plugin called Download monitor. With that it gives you the ability to create a unique URL – one that masks the real one.
That worked for a while, then it stopped working, and I couldn’t get it working again, so I gave up on it.
Now, I am using aweber. I use the redirect after the double-opt-in to send people to the pdf. I’m not worried about people sharing it, and I like aweber much better than mailchimp. It’s worth it.
Hope this helps.

In reply to: [GamePress] Gamepress Slider on Static Home page and page titleLoving the theme! I was looking at the second part of that question. I tried what you said about editing the menu in the WP menu system. It didn’t work for me. The only option I had was to remove the Navigation Label, which took the link out of the navigation bar, but not off the page.
What I did was make a copy of the full-width-page php file.
I changed the template name.
I removed the class=”full-width” attribute from the content div.
I then removed this code:<header><h2><?php the_title(); ?></h2></header>
Lastly, I added the get_sidebar before the get_footer.
That worked, but I’m wondering if maybe there’s an easier way to do it.

In reply to: best way to get subscribers with free downloadThanks for the suggestion. I had heard of aweber, but I diidn’t explore it because of the price tag. I’m not in a position yet to put down $20/mo for a newsletter plugin. The double opt in does sound like a good feature, though.

Forum: Plugins
In reply to: how to show a product but don't sell onlineThanks everyone for the suggestions. I did a search with the terms “store pickup” and I found a plugin called TheCartPress. It has a feature where you can check a box and it turns your shop into a catalogue and removes the check out features, which is really cool, because, if, at some point, I want to start selling online, all I have to do is uncheck the button and … voi-la!
