  • Just loaded this to try the updates out. I haven’t fully explored everything that’s been added, but what I’ve found has been cool.
I noticed you changed the license from Creative Commons to the MIT? Was there anything in particular that prompted the change?
Anyhow. Nice plug-in. I’ll comment more when I’ve play with it a bit.
    Thanks for making it available.

The RSS approach was just a quick hack to see if I could import the links to another program. Magpie already handles RSS feeds for that program.
To go the OPML route, I’ll have to find a script that will read OPML files. If I can figure out how the OPML parse script for importing in the admin section works, maybe I can use that. I just needed something quick and dirty.

I’ll play with the ifunctions and variables a bit to see what I can do with them.
Also, you indicated you’d be adding some functionality to Exhibit 1.0c to allow file uploading. Sounds great! If you’ve not already done so, would you think about adding an option that could be set to resize an uploaded file if it was too wide or high? Some users have no concept of what image width can be tolerated on a normal screen, and their images spill all over the place looking pretty gruesome. And it would also prevent these giants from consuming bandwidth when being downloaded.
    Again, thanks for the pointers

First of all, thanks for the effort to produce this package. It has lots of great features, and works pretty much right out of the box. Nice!
I think I’ll use this for my site production gallery.
And I’ll pass along a couple of suggestions.
Ordering the pictures. It seems like the easiest way to do this is by using the database to sort the results alphabetically based on the picture name. One then selects the order by selecting a name that will put them in the desired order.
Some flexibility in displaying the captions would be very useful. Maybe this exists, but I couldn’t find it. For example, I would like abbreviated or no captions under thumbs to keep them from getting shifted out of alignment by the change in box size for lengthy captions. But underneath the enlarged picture, I’d like to make the caption as a long as I needed to provide some annotation. I glanced at the code, but didn’t see an easy way to do this. If someone knows of a good way to do this, I’d appreciate some ideas.
    Really great plug-in.

I really meant accessing old posts. When do old posts drop into the archived category? At the end of the month? >30 days old? Variable?

I can’t comment on the methodology of incorporating the copyright information, but the feature you provide would be very useful to blogsites with more than one contributing author that wants to ensure copyright notices get included with their material.
I assume this notice would automatically be included in RSS feeds generated by WordPress.

The problem appears to be resolved. The server added a mime type so that a text/css header is now returned for .css files. The pages now appear to render correctly – even in Firefox. I woudn’t have thought to look for a header problem. Thanks for the troubleshooting help.

Everyone – Thanks for the help. I’ve contacted the server to see if they can correct the problem. I hope so. I don’t want change servers right now. The server problem would explain why these pages are served correctly from my local server and not the skytoucher.com location.

Ok, per Criag’s suggestion, I installed version 1.02 — same result, i.e,. stylesheet doesn’t show.
    Really puzzling.

    The URI is https://skytoucher.com/wp/
I tried the reload trick with Mozilla. Nothing happened.
Another puzzling thing is that Mozilla uses the stylesheet correctly when running a local copy of WordPress that I use for testing. The problem I have is with the remote copy.
The local version (on linux) is: WordPress 1.0.1
The skytoucher.com version is: WordPress 1.2-alpha
I made sure the stylesheets were identical for the two locations.
Maybe this is a timeout problem of some sort.

The problem was resolved; the server wasn’t handling the php file correctly. Once that was fixed, manual editing of the configuration file before running the install script fixed things.
But I still got boatloads of “duplicate record” errors on the Step 3 phase of installation. But ….. it seems to work.
