Just checked… Your update worked! The site now looks good in Firefox and IE, as well as in Chrome. Many thanks!
Thanks for this… I apologize for being a WP newbie but need a bit of guidance on how to find the line that needs changing… I assume I go to Appearance -> Editor, but after that, I don’t see where to look. Also the lines of code where I am looking aren’t numbered, so I don’t see how to scroll down to line 167.
When I get there, I will add max-width:100% as you suggest but I am unsure what is meant by “end of inline style (inside a tag)”

In reply to: Remove link under header imageI should have noted that I’m using the Twenty Eleven theme.

In reply to: How to delete Search boxI found this advice in another thread on the topic from DesignSimply, staff, in aug 2013, and it seems to have worked:
To hide the search form from the header area in the Twenty Eleven theme, add this to your Appearance > Customize > CSS panel:
#branding #searchform {
display: none;

In reply to: move or delete "posted & date"Hi Florian,
Thanks!
The “posted + date” only appears on the front blog page, i.e., the home page (which I have re-labelled as “Books”)…as shown on https://www.peterdshapiro.com.
Not sure how to find the relevant php code. It’s not visible in the Text for this page. Seems to be inserted separately by the Theme and/or WordPress.
How would I edit the Theme file to hide this? (Theme is Twenty Eleven)
Best,
Peter
