After some considerable time troubleshooting, I have ascertained that the problem is the proxy we use to access our installation of GFI’s “Web Monitor” software. I discovered that it’s only our computers at work which have the issue. When I turn off the proxy on any work machine, WordPress works fine (but Web Monitor doesn’t!)

Now the question is this. Is it the particular proxy we have to use, a bug with GFI or does WordPress not like proxies at all?

I think I’ve tried everything:

Installed and activated the Google Libraries plugin
Uninstalled every single plugin
Manually re-installed WP 3.5
Switched themes
Flushed all caches

All to no avail at all
