I understand everyone’s frustration with this issue. Please understand that my full-time job must come before this, as well as many other things.
I do fully intend to update WordPress Firewall 2 as soon as possible. I’ve had some fixes and a few new features already done, literally for months now. I know I said it would be much, much sooner; I know a lot of time has gone by. Regardless of how much I can get done in the next 1-2 weeks, I will release an update, so you all can see at least some progress.
Please continue to report issues – I do check this forum, I am aware of the most annoying problems, and I do intend to have at least the serialize/unserialize issue fixed in this update.
A final note, the serialize/unserialize errors are not fatal errors. WF2 will continue to operate, even when encountering these errors. If you have WF2 installed, even if you get these errors, the plugin is still protecting your site.

In reply to: CSS Edit page Redirects to Home pageHi,
I’m not familiar with this error, and I haven’t been able to reproduce it. I also reviewed the question from 2009, but I’m afraid that wasn’t much help.
First, ensure that your IP is in fact whitelisted. Navigate to the WFF2 settings page, and check to see that your IP is in two places: 1. it should be saved in one of the text boxes (it should show up there whenever you navigate to this page) and 2. it should match your current IP, which is seen at the bottom of the Whitelisted IPs section.
Also, could you forward me the warning email you receive when this happens? It’ll help me figure out what’s going on. (see my email)
Everyone,
I will be releasing an update for WordPress Firewall 2 in the next week or so. This version should (hopefully) correct this issue, among others.
Thank you for your feedback! It’s appreciated.
I’ll check on this and get back to you.

In reply to: List all photos in postYou could use a plugin for this, which is much simpler:

In reply to: Blog page not recognized as current page from WordPress menuI’m using WordPress menus and bringing the menu in through the WordPress Custom Menu widget. I am using a second loop, I believe. The page itself starts a loop when loaded (it’s a page, so the loop by default should load the page content), but I’m overriding this loop with my custom loop, to pull in blog posts, rather than the page content. I’ll look at wp_reset_query and see what I figure out.
Thanks for the info!

In reply to: [Global Translator] [Plugin: Global Translator] Plugin Crashed My ServerYour post has no relevance on the Global Translator plugin. There is no “house data locally” option. Perhaps you have this plugin confused for another?

In reply to: Audio Player Non StopYou’ll need to use frames, a separate window for the player (a popup), or load all your content via ajax or a similar method (so the page isnn’t updated/refreshed when a link is clicked). The easiest method would be to have a link to the player, when clicked, opens the player in a new window. This way, when the page is refreshed/updated, it doesn’t affect the player.
Any method which prevents the page from being refreshed/updated will do the trick. The three methods above are the only ways that I’m aware of.

In reply to: A little help – Categories and Sub-categories vs. TagsI don’t fully understand what you’re trying to do, but as far as organizing sections/pages, etc., I personally find that categories are the ways to go. If you need extended support, you can look at custom taxonomies, though in your case I think categories are good.
HTML emails are not always reliable (there are many email clients, services, etc., and each has its own way of interpreting). I am about to release an update for the plugin which will contain a plain text email option.
As far as the permissions issue, I will look into that to see what I can find out.
Thanks for the feedback!
Country banning could be done, I believe. I’ll look into it. Thanks!

In reply to: [WordPress Firewall 2] [Plugin: WordPress Firewall 2] Spurious AlertsHi Mike,
Are you causing this action? Is the IP that it’s alerting you to your own IP? And you’re positive that this is the same IP that you’re accessing your WordPress site from? What type of attack does it say it is? I just need a little more detail to be able to best help you.

In reply to: [Plugin: WordPress Firewall] Error Whitelisting IPOk…I submitted the new plugin to WordPress. It’ll take a few days probably. The name of the plugin is WordPress Firewall 2. I’ll post the link to it here, once it gets accepted and uploaded. It’s still the same plugin, pretty much, the changes are:
* Fixed known bugs
* Added plain text email option
* IP of plugin activator added by default
* Other small, miscellaneous updates. And I’ll be maintaining it.
