All seems OK now : o) Those tags have caught me out before on other things : o(
After purging the site it does seem to take a very long time to rebuild the references back up. Maybe it has always done that because there are about 250 of them but have not noticed it before. Whilst by Date listing shows all records, by Author is still incomplete in Edge, Safari and Firefox, even after 24 hours. Is also not showing all records when I Browse by Library in Admin

Ah OK. Messages have crossed. I now need to go offline whilst my PC is seen to but will try in a few hours. Well spotted

ps just looked today at the Author and Date order listings for the Bibliography of the entire collection in FireFox; Date Order date headers have now returned. From my perspective, there seems to be an enormous timelag of several hours or more from making any changes and for them to appear.

Now changed to:

Have purged everything from the website cache and removed cache in both browsers and now both in spinning cog mode at the moment

Just an update since updating to 7.1.1.

MS Edge: Author Order and Date Order both work fine; Date Order date headers are displayed within 3 seconds so that is good

FireFox: Author Order and Date Order also both work fine but Date Order date headers are never displayed.

I use the code elsewhere and if you look at the Bibliography tab on this page in Firefox
https://www.gowerbonecaves.org.uk/gazetteer/cave-records/bacon-hole-pennard/

it displays in Author Order, but if you view the same in MS Edge, it shows it in Date Order.

Hi Katie, just to say that Firefox now works fine for the Author Order. Am a bit confused by it all. Still a 10-15 second time lag before the Date Order date headers are displayed for me so that is the only thing left to resolve. Lets see what @jdembowski says. Thank you for your patience

Having read about the Caching issue in a subsequent post, I have now refreshed the Date Order display several times in FireFox and the list is now complete and year dates now appear, allbeit some 10 or more seconds after the initial listing and which is the same with MS Edge : o) Is still slower though than the previous version.

Author Order still does not work in FireFox though does in MS Edge. Can confirm that everything also works in Safari but still the date timelag

I see what is happening now but different for different browsers.

In FireFox, they starting to slowly reappear once more in the correct date order but …. the year dates for each years collection of publications no longer shows as it never goes displaying beyond 2002 and shows the cogwheel. Author Order shows nothing except the cogwheel.

In Edge, these year dates do reappear … but some 10 seconds after the full list shows. All is OK again for the Author Order.

Many thanks for looking at that. I have rolled back to Version 1.9.3.5 and all is OK once more. If you look at the Bibliography tab of ‘The page I need help with’; there are no large spaces between records and dates in this.

When I viewed the page with Version 1.9.3.6 in Edge, Safari and Firefox and saw the same problem with all three so something seems different in how it displays the output from the shortcode I pasted into that RichText field.

Can you please advise what I might try next.
