Thought perhaps this would have been easy for you pros?

Perhaps using the Robots text file in the root of WP and disallowing them access to comments?? Dont know really but putting the comments.php file in its own folder, changing the address reference to it in the other pages and

disallow – what ever the folder name is?

It may be crap idea as I know nothing about what I am saying but…

    just throwing stuff about here…

Well now it seems the spammers have moved to porn. Bloody fantastic. I actually had spam nailed with a platoon of different plugins and hacks with 1.21, now that I have upgraded to 1.5 it back and they have hit the throtle much harder this time.

Have we actually got ONE solution for this rubbish for 1.5. I know we have the black list and the other one that nukes posts with what ever keywords are in it. But enabling registers users may only post a comment does not work as I would think it would. One still has to clean out the moderation folder every day and now because of the volume, I have turned off email notification…

    Anyone….?

    cheers

So if I wanted to pull you rss accross to my site – I would have to add your rss url to one of these agregators and then somehow send it to my site?

The email i use is valid

I get no emails when someone post nor when they join or with the “subscibe to this comment” plugin.

    I just tried this

logged out and then used the lost password form and it said sent but no email and now I can not log into my own blog…

ffs I have been messing with this for 2 weeks blahhhhhh

my host says it blocks any email sending that comes from [email protected]

they say that all emails sent as nobody@…. are not sent and that most php scripts use this as a default so basically it has rendered it useless and I have no idea how to change the default nobody@ part or even where to find where it is generated….

    Righto! smooth installation….

Now that it is installed how do you post the link to call the image.

    # First upload one or more JPEG images to a subdirectory of the WordPress upload directory according to the setings for pp_image_dir (I use %year%/%monthnum%/%postname% myself).
    # Then create a new post that will use this directory (in my case by maing sure that date and Post Slug are the same as used for the directory).

The above part is gibberish to me… where is this directory for me to upload pics to?

Can I use an outsource of pics stored on say flickr and call the images from there? I would like my users to be able to upload pics as well – hence the flickr… or is there an other way to do this?

I already have a bunch of images in wp-images/crayfish/image.jpg can I set the upload directory to that one or do I have to find this %thingy?
