Response to Threadi… Thanks for such a detailed answer. You’re right, I’m using Responsive theme. As I said previously, this is a very, very basic site which has worked perfectly for many years. I’ll try everything you have suggested and will let you know. By the way, is there a way I can actually reply to each answer without putting these “new”posts in the thread? Thanks

I am completely new to WordPress.

I “think” its already installed with the company I have my web hosting with.

I have received my confirmation e mail telling me my new wordpress site has successfully been set up and telling me I can log in to the administrator account.

However when I tried to log in it says I have attempted a lot of log ins and asked me to fill the captcha. It then says I entered the wrong captcha and when it asks me to enter another (to prove I am a human!) theres no capthca box appearing.

Although this shouldn’t make any real difference I’m on an iMac.

Any help would be truly and greatly appreciated.
