Thank you for the instant reply, Brecht!

And yes, that seems to have done the trick. Many thanks!

Sorry to resurrect this, but the problem seems to go beyond Imagify. Turning off WebP images restored correct sizes to the thumbnails on the normal posts. But the amp versions of posts continue to show thumbs at random sizes. To stick with the example page I mentioned earlier, you can compare the plugin’s output on these two URLs:

    https://www.skymania.com/wp/how-to-see-julys-partial-eclipse-of-the-moon/?amp
    and
    https://www.skymania.com/wp/how-to-see-julys-partial-eclipse-of-the-moon/

The “Recent posts” widget by ThemeZee, a little lower in the sidebar, always displays the thumbs correctly, whether amp or not, and whether webP or not is selected in Imagify.

    Thanks.

Thank you Thomas. It is odd because sometimes it displayed correctly and sometimes not in AMP standard mode. Also strangely, another similar plugin (Custom Related Posts) was not affected, but is affected by a different issue in that thumbnails do not resize correctly in Webp format – yours do!

    Cheers,

    Paul

Bingo! I’ve turned off the option to display images in webp format on the site, and it has fixed the problem. This was a recent update to Imagify.

I think I have found the culprit! The issue disappears if I deactivate Imagify, then returns when I reactivate it. I don’t know why though.

Yes, it is and has been set to get cropped. I had also already regenerated the thumbnails in case that helped, and have just done so again. They used to show correctly, so this is rather odd.

    Hi Brecht,

I have it set to 80×80 which is the thumbnail size on my Settings>Media page.

    (@paul-sutherland)

That page is one example. It occurs on many posts.

    Hi Birgit,

Thank you for your reply. I did install v6.1.1, hoping that was a fix, but there is no improvement.

It is interesting that you ask about 3rd party blocks. I have the 3rd party CoBlocks plugin and sometimes use its spacer block. I have just tried deactivating the CoBlocks plugin, and the overlap problem disappears, even if the Gutenberg plugin is active.

If I deactivate the Gutenberg plugin, the problem disappears, even if the CoBlocks plugin is active. So perhaps there is a conflict between the CoBlocks and Gutenberg plugins!

It is a problem in general with blocks, and happens whether I create a new paragraph block, or an image block, for example.

To add to this, I suspect that the problem is due to a conflict between the latest versions of Gutenberg built into WordPress and the Gutenberg plugin. The reason that the Gutenberg plugin is also in use is because the official AMP plugin requires it also to be installed in order for AMP stories to display.

Deactivating the Gutenberg plugin has allowed the blocks to appear normally, so I guess the workaround is to deactivate the Gutenberg plugin while editing, and then to reactivate it if you are displaying AMP stories!

I won’t mark this as resolved yet, in case a developer has any advice to add.

I am having the same problem with the plugin since today’s update. I’ve tried rebuilding my thumbnails and reinstalling RPT, but neither helps.

Hi. That’s awesome. Can’t wait to try it!

    (@paul-sutherland)

Eureka! I have found the problem, and I feel very silly. The option for “page” under post types was somehow turned off, with only “post” available. I added “page” and was able to delete the links. I imagine that I must have had “page” selected previously in order to add the two “November” pages. Sorry!

A Google search told me that the Cloudflare plugin uses rocket-loader JS, so I disabled that, but the links still would not be deleted. I therefore disabled all the other plugins too (apart from yours obviously) but still no luck.
