Check out the code below. You’ll have to change the post type labels to fit your application. I’ll clean it out with (easier to discern) dummy labels in the near future. Drop it in your functions and you’ll see the changes in the admin. I’ve put together a better system since I (tried to post this months ago. If your interested, let me know.

I was having the same drag/drop problem in FF 4 while trying to reorder pages in the WP nav menu builder. Ran the usual plugin checks and eventually found out it was the Firebug console causing the problem. I just killed the Firebug frame and everything functioned as it should. Just something to watch for…
