In reply to: [Embed PDF] Whoops! There was a problem previewing this document.If it is a private site, the problem is probably that Google has no way to access the PDF to convert it to images to display through the Google Document Viewer.

In reply to: [Embed PDF] Compatibility with 4.3Do you have any more detail? What is broken?

In reply to: [Embed PDF] White Blank Space below the PDF FileI am telling you that the problem is the
<!-- wpnl -->
tags that are being inserted into the plugin’s output.I do not know where they are coming from. If you do not know where they are coming from either, then there is nothing left that can be done.

In reply to: [Embed PDF] White Blank Space below the PDF FileWhat is
<!-- wpnl -->
?It looks like you have another plugin that is interfering with the display of the PDF. This, I think, is what is causing the issue with whitespace.
The “Unable to display PDF” message should not appear at all because, obviously, the PDF is displayed right above it.

In reply to: [Embed PDF] Using into templates with a custom fieldIf you are doing custom PHP stuff, it would be easier/quicker to bypass the plugin altogether and just create the embed code from scratch.
You can take a look at the source of the plugin to see what needs to be done.

In reply to: [Embed PDF] It does not work with heavy pdfI have no control over the conversion process; this all happens server side by the Google Document Viewer.
All this plugin is responsible for is generating the embed code to pass the PDF to Google. If you are having a problem with the Google Document Viewer displaying a certain PDF, you will need to contact Google.

In reply to: [Embed PDF] Plugin Suggestion for "Unable to View PDF"Unfortunately, that is controlled by Google via their Google Document Viewer.
Reading the tea leaves, it looks like they may soon discontinue support for their viewer, breaking this plugin.

In reply to: [Embed PDF] 3D pdfI have never heard of a 3D PDF.
It seems that Google’s Document Viewer (which this plugin uses) is no longer being actively developed, so I do not expect that any new features will be added. It seems you will need to find another solution

In reply to: [Embed PDF] Embed PDF as a widget via (enhanced text)Apparently
do_shortcode
does not work with the[embed]
tag.This is a limitation of WordPress, rather than the plugin. Fortunately, there is a way around that limitation, using
apply_filters
as described on the page linked.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Embed PDF] Embed PDF as a widget via (enhanced text)Well, it certainly seems like that should be working…
Does it output anything at all?
Does the plugin work elsewhere on your site, ie: embedding a PDF in a post?

In reply to: [Embed PDF] Not WorkingThat is correct; it will not work on an intranet.
The plugin embeds the Google Docs Viewer, which requires that Google have access to the PDF to convert it to a series of images, which are then displayed by the browser.
Sorry to hear this plugin does not fit your needs.

In reply to: [Embed PDF] SEO ??My question is, since the PDF shows up inside Flash, how does this effect SEO? Are search engines able to read text of the PDF?
It is not using Flash. It is using HTML 5.

In reply to: [Embed PDF] Float or Align Right?I’m very familiar with HTML, CSS, etc.
You can either add something to your existing CSS that targets the
.pdf
class, or you can set thestyle
attribute.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Embed PDF] Embed Dropbox LinkBeing able to embed a file right from dropbox will be awesome in a future revision though!
Not possible. This is an issue with the way Dropbox serves files; they are not a web host.
You have piqued my curiosity, what sort of setup are you building?
