In reply to: [Staff List vCard] How to set download file nameI am encountering the same problem. I hope the Plugin Support can reply to this and advise.
Dear brianvu-tp,
Since you belong to the Plugin Support, I hope you have realised by now that there is truly a bug on the LearnPress PayPal function. My site was working well for months with my PayPal account and suddenly now students cannot auto start the courses after payment. It is not any IPN setting in my PayPal account. If you look at the recent forum topics for LearnPress plugin, you would have noticed that there are many users reporting that the orders are staying at “pending” status.
Would truly, truly, appreciate you can escalate the problem to LearnPress Plugin development team for them to rectify the problem.
Regards
Hi,
I am facing the same issue. The payment was successfully deducted and displayed on the Credit Card account of the payee (user).
I do see the transaction in my website>WooCommerce Payment Dashboard>Overview and Transaction tab.
However, when I check the receiving bank account that is linked to the WooCommerce Payment/Stripe account, there is no such payment received by the Bank. On the Stripe dashboard, there is no where we can see any transactions.
Could you kindly explain, what happen to the money that is paid?
Regards.
I have just discovered that in the LEarnPress PayPal setting, it’s mentioned PayPal standard.
Any solution to solve the Auto Start not working problem?
Hi,
Thank you for your reply. Whenever there is successful payment received from PayPal, the Order status is shown as “Pending”. This should NOT be the case because under the LearnPress Course settings, I have enabled “students get started courses immediately after successful purchase”. Previously, when a student successfully make a payment, the Order status is automatically set as “Completed”. But now it’s set as “Pending” and I need to manually set it to “Completed”. This means the “Auto Start” feature is not working.
In the LearnPress Payment>PayPal settings, there’s only a field for me to place my PayPal email account. There is no settings to choose PayPal Standard or PayPal Express ( I see such option in WooCommerce Plugin but I am not using WooCommerce here). I am unable to advise whether it is PayPal standard or express. How to check that?
Regards.
Hi,
I would like to add that the emails are not received for new signup and enrollment for free courses. For paid courses, purchased via paypal, there are emails received.
Hope this provide more clarity.
Hi,
Further to my previous post, I did further tests today. I installed a new WordPress site with Twenty-Twenty One theme and installed the free MasterStudy Plugin. And all the above issues that I described yesterday about the enrolled numbers increasing by multiples, no enrolled courses appearing in the student account and no students listed in the Dashboard, are all there.
Then I installed a new WordPress site with the same Twenty-Twenty One theme and installed the MasterStudy plugin on another hosting provider. The above issues do not exist. Except for item 4 where the comments are still coming in, eventhough it is disabled in the WordPress setting > Discussion. Next, I imported the demo course contents from MasterStudy. However, whenever I click on “start course” for any of the demo courses, it goes to the lesson that I created and not to the lesson of the demo courses!
I went back to the first site, deactivate the plugins that were provided by the hosting company which essentially is for speed optimisation and security purpose. There are no other plugins except for MasterStudy. The problems persisted.
Maybe you can shed some light why the plugin works differently for different hosting platform? And why the demo course contents are not working. I actually try downloading MasterStudy and the demo course contents on another site without first creating my own course. Whenever I click on the “Start Course” nothing happens.

EstherHi,
I have found the answer–that is to add the author’s bio description under WordPress Dashboard>user.
Thank you for an excellent theme.
Esther
Thank you very much for your reply. Really glad to get this solution! ??
Hi,
I have solved the above problems. For anyone who may encountered similar problems in future, here’s what happened:
1. For the 404 error, during the creation of a new network, domain field, it is important to ensure that there is no ‘/’ after entering the domain name. And in the path field, it is important to add a ‘/’ after the sub-directory. This will solve the problem.
2. There is probably an update in the WP-Multi-Network plugin. So there is no more ‘Assign sites’ under the Network tab. Instead, if you go to Network Admin Dashboard>Sites, there is a new selection ‘move’ associated with each site. You can click on the ‘move’ and it will bring to a new page with a drop down list of networks for selection.
This plugin is actually excellent. It works so beautifully.
Thank you for the development!
Best Regards
Esther
