it was a PHP file error and didnt help that the website had been hacked

On a slightly more urgent note, while troubleshooting this the sit has been ok and remaind useable. However I just tested renaming a file in the main “htdocs” section

“wp-blog-header.php” quickly to see if it was another header and now the whole site has gone down ?? I changed it back but this hasnt fixed it any ideas or have i f**ed up big here.

Kinda paniking abit now as i think i may have just broken the site and really need to get it working agiain even if i can fix the other issue

Firstly thanks for your reply.

I have tried the steps you have suggested by downloading the twenty Fifteen theme from the link you gave, but no such luck the error remains. I have noticed when I changed the theme the error will alternate between the header and footer error.

The Theme folders look like this

Current theme
-twentyfifteen (this is the newly downloaded one)

xold themes
-twentyeleven
-twentyten
-twentyfourteen
-twentythirteen
-carsforsale

I have gone through each one to try find one that will work by swapping them round in the current theme folder, but no luck. I could not answer where the theme came from as my old man dumped this problem with me after he broke it.

I dont suppose their is anywhere else that this error could be coming from? I only ask as until now when Ive got my hands on it the only time the site had been edited with an ftp management tool, was when it was built many years ago. It has only been updated as far as im aware using the WP admin area.
