I deployed PIS through the Appearance > Widgets method – but, since I couldn’t use the PIS directly into the page (putting into the page [pissc cat=”staff,news,our-works”] will not give me the options/features of the PIS), I used the “Widgetize pages Light” plugin to create the sidebar in the page via “Appearance > Widgets” method. So, technically, PIS is within the otw-sidebar-1 (it is the name of the sidebar created by that widget).

The PIS ID is there – I found it by checking the elements in Safari – it is “pis_posts_in_sidebar-4”

But, when I check the address of the PIS (as it shows in the Browser address bar when I access the PIS in the “Appearance > Widgets” section), it shows as: ” pis_posts_in_sidebar-4&sidebar=otw-sidebar-1&key=0 ”

I am going to prepend the css line as ” #otw-sidebar-1 #pis_posts_in_sidebar-4 li.pis-li” -Then I will try, ” .otw-widget-1 #otw-sidebar-1 #pis_posts_in_sidebar-4 li.pis-li” – Then, ” .otw-widget-1 #pis_posts_in_sidebar-4 li.pis-li”

You should be able to check these changes now.

Every widget has an ID number that uniquely identifies it. So, if you want to give a particular style only to a widget and not to other parts that have the same classes, prepend the ID.

PIS widget ID I found by inspecting the elements – it is “4”. So, I changes the CSS as follow:

#pis_posts_in_sidebar-4 li.pis-li {
width: 48%;
height: 350px;
float: left;
margin-right: 4%;
border-bottom: 2px solid #FCFCFC;
}
#pis_posts_in_sidebar-4 li.pis-li:last-child {
margin-right: 0;
}

But, it seems the id is not not being recognized, the posts have gone back to 1-column.
Can you tell me what I am doing wrong – should I look for the ID some place else?

Great! – going to try these changes and report back.

On the site page the widget ID is: “pis_posts_in_sidebar-4” – similarly, there will be a different ID for each event (sidebars or whatever). That solves the problem!

Border issue is not a big deal, just will have to play with the width allocation and the margin.

I believe, I can mark it as Resolved.

Thank you again for such a great support – and also for the “Simple Image Sizes”, it may become handy.

Good Morning here in the US – and, “Buon Giorno”, come se chiama in Italia.

Regarding the URL “%20”, PIS has in the field, “https://example.com/ . . .” When I deleted it (by entering the space key), it automatically entered the “https://%20” in the space – That was the problem. I reverted it back to what it was. And, lo and behold, images are now linked to the relevant posts.

I am going to put your solution for the columns to work now – I have already read (and copied) your relevant responses on the “support” thread, and, since I can do most of the needed css tweaking on the front side, the rest of the modifications must be easy. I may be coming back to seek your help when I cannot figure out the ‘elements’ that need to be tweaked.

Once done with the initial page design work, I have the task of posting 100s of my html articles, essays, and monographs – may take a couple of months to edit and transfer all the work.

In the next few days, I will be posting a detailed review of the PIS plugin – it is a powerful and fully featured plugin. And, above all, you are a great support.

it was the pre-filled URL in the PIS field – I had deleted it. But, it seems that it keeps on reinstating itself –

I don’t know how to thank you – unbeliebale support. I hope the community here will recognize your active contribution and help to individuals.

It was actually a ‘name’ conflict – my bad. I was giving the same name (‘Home’ – the page name) to the sidebar ID (using another plugin). Changing the sidebar name resolved the issue and your plugin is pulling the sample posts’ excerpts.

Now, clicking the ‘Title’ takes to the post – but, the same doesn’t happen on the image thumbnails – How can we make the image thumbnails pull the relevent url?

Also, is there a way to display post in 2-3 columns, instead of showing in rows (single column)?

As I mentioned, The short code pulled the excerpts but not the images/thumbnails.

I have made all the possible selections in the PIS option menu in the sidebar (where I have placed the widget) – nothing is working.

The plugin certainly seems to be capable of doing what it says, but I don’t know what I am missing.

Thanks a lot for all your help – Really appreciate it very much.

I was thinking about placing an image in the content section of the “Front Page” (where the latest posts/excerpts are displayed) – I realized I cannot do even with a ‘custom widget zone’ for that. The only (I think) is to place the image in a ‘sticky post’ or in a slider.

The site I am working on is ” https://lifevibrant.com ” – the image that I was talking about is in the ‘header’.

I have another website based on the older version (Alex’s) of Hueman – ” https://viewsandpreviews.com “. I could tweet it quite easily.

I also use the “customizr” theme for my ” https://newsscouter.com ” website – very easy to work with.

But, the “Hueman-customizr” has some rigid structure that doesn’t allow deeper customization.

Anyhow, both of these themes are great – thanks to Nikeo, and all of you who provide a great support to thousands of us.

Thank you for looking into my query – I tried to create a widget zone for the content area (2 sidebars – content in the middle), couldn’t find a way to do it.

The only choices are the sidebars, footer 1,2,3 and header.

The idea is to place an image at the top of the “Front Page” (in the content widget area) – this way, the image will remain fixed above all the posts.

Any suggestions?

A minor issue, though: upon this ‘shrinkage’, the line “Math – Physics – ACT Prep” (put via widget) in front of the social icons breaks away in smaller viewports/mobile phones.

Both solutions worked perfectly – no twitch and no font misbehavior! Thank you very much.
Now, while we are on it, I am trying to reduce the size of the ‘navar box’ (the idea is to give more blue bg color to the header area). Used this code:

Didn’t work. Obviously, need to increase the ‘span 3’ proportionally or some other tweak . Any ideas?

Thanks for the link. Though most of the code there is no more pertinent as the Customizr newer versions have incorporated those functionalities,but it still provides the ‘names of the elements’ – that in itself is very useful. I am going to look more into it.

Thank you for looking into it. Trying to fix the width of the logo/brand and navbar/navbar-wraper via css (changing the percentage) has its own vagaries – doesn’t work properly (at least not for me). It seems that changes have to be made somewhere else as well – I couldn’t figure out where.

As for the ‘share icons’ the plugin is doing a nice job – I only need to find a way to make the text (via widget) move to the same line as the share icons.
